Royal Enfield is set to expand its lineup with the much-anticipated launch of the Classic 650. Recent trademark filings indicate that the production-spec name for this upcoming model has been finalised as the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin, hinting at an imminent release in 2024.
Trademark Confirmation
The trademark filing for the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin was officially registered by Eicher Motors Limited, parent company of Royal Enfield, on May 9th, 2024. The application status indicates that formalities have been passed, which has signalled an early launch of the motorcycle.
Distinctive Name and Design
The chosen name, Classic 650 Twin, has signalled a departure from the existing naming convention, providing clear differentiation from its 350cc counterpart. Similar naming strategies were employed with the Super Meteor 650, emphasising the engine displacement and unique features.
Expected Features and Positioning
Classic 650 Twin is expected to inherit the classic design elements of its predecessor, Classic 350, while adapting them to accommodate the larger 650cc engine. Test mules have been spotted with dual pea-shooter-style exhausts, finished in chrome for a timeless aesthetic. The motorcycle shares its platform with the Super Meteor 650, positioning it between the Interceptor 650 and Super Meteor 650 in terms of features and pricing.

Technical Specifications
Powered by a 648cc parallel-twin oil-cooled engine, Classic 650 Twin is anticipated to deliver approximately 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. Expected to be equipped with a slipper clutch and a 6-speed gearbox, the motorcycle will offer a blend of performance and reliability. Classic 650 Twin may feature conventional RSU telescopic front forks and a twin shock setup at the rear, along with LED headlights.
Market Prospects
With the success of the Classic 350, the Classic 650 Twin is poised to capture the attention of enthusiasts seeking a larger displacement classic motorcycle. Despite potential rivals such as Tripper Screen, Classic 650 Twin is expected to appeal to a broad audience.
CarBike360 Says
As anticipation builds for the launch of the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin, enthusiasts eagerly await further details regarding its specifications, features, and availability. With its distinctive design, robust performance, and the backing of a respected brand, the Classic 650 Twin is poised to make a significant impact in the classic motorcycle segment upon its release in 2024.
