Royal Enfield is working on its first electric motorcycle, codenamed "electriK01," with plans for a 2026 launch. Patent images have surfaced, showcasing a modern retro design inspired by the Royal Enfield Classic 350. The bike features a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a round headlight, and curved fenders.
The electrik01 boasts a vintage look with girder fork suspension at the front and a mono-shock at the rear, likely positioned under the rider’s seat. The electric motor and battery pack are integrated where a traditional petrol engine would be. While specific motor output and battery capacity details are not yet available, it's expected to reach the speed of over 100 kmph and have a range of at least 100 km.

The bike includes modern versions of classic design elements, such as the girder fork, round headlight, and turn indicators. The aluminium chassis houses the battery pack, maintaining a retro appearance. Power is transferred to the rear wheel via a chain or belt drive.
Royal Enfield has been developing and testing electric motorcycles for several years. Although the exact launch date of the production model is unconfirmed, the design appears production-ready. Last year, the company unveiled an electric adventure motorcycle prototype at the EICMA show in Milan. Royal Enfield CEO Siddhartha Lal has mentioned a cautious approach to their electric lineup. In 2022, Royal Enfield acquired a stake in Spanish electric motocross bike company Stark Future, indicating a potential long-term collaboration.
