The Tata Sierra has received a five-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests. This rating covers both adult and child occupant protection. The results apply to all Sierra units manufactured from March 2026 onward. Crash Test Results Overview
Bharat NCAP tested the Tata Sierra, one of Tata’s newest SUVs, for crash safety. The Sierra achieved top scores in both adult and child categories. These ratings apply to all variants, including Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished, and Accomplished+. The results cover petrol and diesel engines, as well as manual and automatic transmissions.
The Sierra’s five-star rating positions it as a strong competitor in its segment. The model rivals other popular SUVs, including the Creta. The high scores reflect Tata’s focus on occupant safety across all versions of the Sierra.
Key Safety Features

The Tata Sierra comes standard with several safety features. All variants include six airbags, a seat-belt reminder system, speed alert system, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), vehicle dynamic control (VDC), rollover mitigation (ROM), corner stability control (CSC), hill assist control (HAC), hydraulic brake assist (HBA), brake disc wiping (BDW), traction control system (TCS), and dynamic stability traction (DST).
Higher variants of the Sierra offer additional safety technologies. These include a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill descent control (HDC), Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and rear occupant sensors. These features enhance the overall safety profile of the vehicle.
Applicability of Ratings
The five-star Bharat NCAP rating applies to all Sierra variants produced from March 2026. This includes all combinations of fuel type and transmission. The consistent application of safety features across the range ensures that all Sierra buyers benefit from the same level of protection.
