In an exciting development for electric vehicle enthusiasts, Tata Motors has officially confirmed the launch timeline for its upcoming Curvv EV, a sleek and futuristic coupe SUV. The company has disclosed that the electric vehicle will hit the market in the second quarter of the financial year 2024-2025, making it available to consumers between July and September 2024.
Curvv EV
The Curvv EV initially appeared in 2022 as a concept, leaving enthusiasts eager for more details. While specific battery and motor specifications remain undisclosed, Tata promises a competitive range of up to 500 km, positioning the Curvv EV as a formidable contender in the electric vehicle market.
ICE Variant to Follow

Tata Motors further revealed its plan to launch the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the Curvv approximately three to four months after the debut of its electric counterpart. If the Curvv EV enters the market early in the second quarter of the financial year 2024-2025, consumers can anticipate the ICE-powered Curvv hitting the market around the festive season later in the same year.
Powertrain and Performance
Tata is expected to equip the ICE version of the Curvv with its new 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, boasting 125 PS of power and 225 Nm of torque. The transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). Additionally, the Curvv might also feature the Nexon's 1.5-litre diesel engine, offering 115 PS and 260 Nm, with both manual and automatic transmission alternatives.
Expected Prices
As per industry speculations, the Curvv EV is projected to start at Rs 20 lakh, providing a competitive option in the electric SUV segment. On the other hand, the ICE-powered Curvv is anticipated to carry a price tag starting from Rs 10.50 lakh. These price points position Curvv as a compelling choice in both the electric and internal combustion engine segments.
Market Competition

The Curvv EV is set to rival other electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV, aiming to capture a significant share of the growing electric vehicle market. Simultaneously, the ICE-powered Curvv will compete in the highly competitive compact SUV segment, facing off against popular models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, and the Toyota Hyryder.
