Tata Curvv EV Latest Update

Expected Launch

Latest Update: Tata Curvv EV test mules have been spied and spotted a number of times on Indian roads. The electric coupe style SUV is currently being tested before its official unveil expected sometime around the second half or festive season of 2024.

In September 2023, Tata trademarked the name AZURA in India, signaling towards a possibility of it being the production name of the concept Curvv EV/ICE.

Moreover, according to some recent media sources, the launch of the Curvv/Azura EV has been delayed by a few months. Previously scheduled to launch in the first half of 2024, it is now expected to hit the Indian roads sometime around the second half, probably during the festive season of 2024.

Design & Exterior

When launched, Tata Curvv EV will be the first mass market coupe style SUV to be launched in India. In the exterior, the Curvv EV will likely get the latest Tata design language i.e. IMPACT 2.0, and will come with futuristic design elements like connected LED light bar design in the front & rear, front bumper with side air curtains, C-pillar with air curtain, flush type door handles, etc.

Features & Safety

On the features front, we expect the Curvv EV to come with features like front ventilated seats, floating type 12 inch infotainment touchscreen, 10.25 inch fully digital drivers display, HUD (heads up display), 360 degree camera with rear blind view monitor, front parking sensors, Arcade.EV app suite, dual zone climate control AC, wireless android auto/apple carplay, wireless charger, etc.

For safety, it will likely get standard 6 airbags, all wheel disc brakes, ESP, traction control, etc. Tata might also equip it with level 2 ADAS tech that we have already seen in the newly facelifted Harrier and Safari.

Moreover, as it will be based on Tata's first and newly introduced pure EV only architecture - Acti.ev, we expect it to also come with a frunk (front trunk) just like the new Punch.EV.

Battery & Motor

Tata Curvv/Azura EV is expected to come with a bigger battery pack compared to the Nexon EV. We expect it to offer a battery capacity of 50 kWh to 60 kWh. Moreover, it will also be a front wheel drive vehicle, with a front axle mounted PMS electric motor, just like Nexon.ev, Punch.ev and other Tata EVs.

Driving Range & Charging

Talking about the full charge driving range, the new Curvv/Azura EV is likely to come with a real world range of 450 to 550 km.

Moreover, it will also get the V2V/V2L (Vehicle to Vehicle/Vehicle to Load) charging feature that we have already seen in the Nexon EV and Punch EV.

Segment and Rivals

The Curvv EV will be a mid size SUV with a length of approx. 4.3 meters. It will sit above Tata Nexon EV in Tata's current EV lineup and will cost somewhat between 20 to 25 lakh (ex-showroom). In this price range, it will rival the likes of MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.

Expected Launch & Price

The launch of Curvv/Azura EV is expected by the mid of 2024. However, according to some recent media sources, its launch might get delayed by a few months. Thus, we expect it to launch sometime by the second half or the end of 2024.

Tata Curvv/Azura EV will likely be a bit more expensive than the Nexon EV. We expect it to come between Rs 20 Lakh to Rs 25 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Curvv EV Price

In India, the Tata Curvv EV is available at an ex-showroom price of 18.00 Lakh. If you're interested in the on-road price in New Delhi, it stands at 18.00 - 24.00 Lakh.
