Maruti Suzuki e Vitara review proves a highly reassuring buying decision for those shifting to green mobility. While it doesn't aim to mimic the gargantuan footprint of a traditional luxury SUV, it stakes a convincing claim as a premium SUV in India. The real-world performance of the 61.1 kWh battery variant stands out, delivering a silky, predictable power output of 172 bhp that completely eliminates sudden, neck-snapping EV acceleration to keep passengers in total comfort. Cabin technology feels robust, featuring an dual-screen layout and Level 2 ADAS, though the 310-litre boot space demands careful packing. Highway speedsters might lean toward aggressive crossover alternatives, but for urban commuters demanding top-tier refinement, an exceptional real-world city range of around 420 km, and unmatched nationwide service support, this is an incredibly reliable choice.

Maruti e Vitara price expectations and rivals

Advanced Aerodynamics provide a smooth flow of air over the vehicle body for improved range
- Maruti Suzuki is likely to position the 61kWh e-Vitara (2WD) with its higher-output motor around ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom).
- A more affordable 49kWh entry variant is expected to debut at the same time in December, with an estimated price of ₹20 lakh.
- With these expected prices, the e-Vitara EV will compete directly with popular electric SUVs like the: Tata Curvv EV (₹17.49–22.24 lakh), MG ZS EV (₹17.99–20.50 lakh), Hyundai Creta Electric (₹18.02–24.40 lakh), Mahindra BE.6 (₹18.90–27.65 lakh)
- Pricing strategy places the e-Vitara close to the VinFast VF7 (₹20.89–25.49 lakh), although the VF7 is physically larger.
- Dimensionally, the VinFast VF6 (approx. 4.2m length) is a more direct rival to the e-Vitara, with a more aggressive price range of ₹16.49–18.29 lakh.

With a 61 kWh battery, this car stands unmatched in the ₹15–20 lakh segment—none of its rivals offer such capacity. On open roads at 80–90 km/h, it consistently delivers 6–7 km/kWh, proving its real-world efficiency. The lower range seen in test drives is simply due to sales teams running the AC at 21°C and drivers flooring the accelerator—conditions under which any EV shows reduced range. In my own use, I achieve a steady 6–7 km/kWh in Eco mode with zero regen on highways.
Maruti has wisely capped charging speed at 60 kWh to protect the battery, a limit that could be lifted later via software updates, much like Hyundai did with the Creta EV. The Suzuki e-Vitara also enjoys a major advantage: Nexa chargers at every outlet, meaning you never have to hunt for third-party stations.
Build quality is impressive—comparable to VW and Skoda—and the car is true value for money. It undercuts rivals like the Creta (51 kWh), Nexon (45 kWh), and Currv (55 kWh), while offering an 8-year battery warranty that extends beyond the first owner, unlike Tata or MG. Considering no EV has yet been used for 15 years, this warranty is a strong reassurance. Altogether, the Vitara is a practical, reliable, and future-ready choice.

Great composition
13-Mar-26 | By Upendra
An excellent EV with impressive range—delivering around 450 km even in city driving. Interiors are refined and spacious, making it far superior to smaller options like the Punch. With its larger size, bigger battery, and stronger range, it’s closer to rivals like the MG Wndser, yet still stands out as the smarter choice. Buy it with confidence—you won’t regret the decision.

This is a well-rounded car. Forget feature comparisons it shines with reliability, practicality, and effortless driveability. The range matches expectations, it feels stable on the road, offers generous space, and ensures solid safety. Most importantly, unlike Tata, its service and after-sales support are consistently dependable.
