• The 1.0-litre three-cylinder Turbo Boosterjet petrol engine produces 99bhp and 147.6Nm, paired with a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic (torque converter with paddle shifters).

• Its ARAI mileage is 21.5kmpl, while real-world figures are 14.25kmpl in the city and 19.09kmpl on the highway. With a 37-litre fuel tank, it delivers a usable range of 527–706km.

• The light clutch and short gear lever ensure smooth, quick shifts.

• The engine sounds throaty under acceleration and does 0–60kmph in a claimed 5.3 seconds.

• Mid-range performance is punchy, helped by the hybrid system.

• Ride quality is comfortable, with the suspension soaking up bumps well.

• Its 190mm ground clearance is ideal for Indian roads.

• This 1.0-litre turbo petrol is offered in Delta Plus, Zeta, and Alpha trims, while the 6-speed automatic is limited to Zeta and Alpha variants.

Negatives:

• ​At lower revs (under 2,500rpm), the 1.0-litre turbo engine delivers a noticeably weaker throttle response.

• The 1.2-litre K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine produces 88bhp and 113Nm, paired with a five-speed manual or five-speed AMT gearbox.

• Idle Start Stop (ISS) improves fuel efficiency, especially in slow city traffic.

• ARAI mileage figures stand at 21.79kmpl for the manual and up to 22.89kmpl for the AMT.

• The 1.2-litre MT is offered in Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus, and Delta Plus (O) trims, while the AMT is available in Delta, Delta Plus, and Delta Plus (O).

• Its well-tuned suspension and 190mm ground clearance (20mm higher than the Baleno) deliver a comfortable ride on typical Indian roads.

CNG 1197 cc:

• The 1.2-litre Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine in the Maruti Suzuki Fronx also comes with a CNG option, producing 76bhp and 98.5Nm, while petrol-mode figures remain unchanged.

• It is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox and delivers a claimed mileage of 28.51km/kg.

• A 55-litre (water equivalent) CNG tank combined with the 37-litre petrol tank gives the Fronx an impressive overall driving range.

• The CNG variant is offered only in the Sigma and Delta trims.

• The Maruti Fronx offers a feature-rich cabin with dual-tone interiors, premium upholstery, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, and steering-mounted controls.
• For driver comfort, it comes equipped with cruise control, paddle shifters, an 8-way adjustable driver seat with height adjust, push-button start, keyless entry, hill-hold assist, and a 360-degree camera.
• It features a 9-inch Arkamys SmartPlay Pro+ HD infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a wireless charger, Suzuki Connect with 40+ connected features, and a HUD with turn-by-turn navigation.
• Rear passengers get ample space, good under-thigh support, rear AC vents, fast-charging USB ports, and a 6-speaker audio system (4 speakers + 2 tweeters) for an enhanced in-cabin experience.

Negatives:

• Rear shoulder room feels limited when three passengers sit together.
• Since the Fronx is marketed as a crossover/compact SUV, its cabin height should have been higher than the Baleno to offer better headroom.
  

Positives:

• The Maruti Suzuki Fronx offers six airbags (front, side, and curtain), ESP with hill-hold assist and rollover mitigation, ABS, and traction control for enhanced safety.
• It also features a 360-degree camera, reverse parking sensors, and a rear defogger to improve visibility and driver awareness.
• For added protection, the Fronx comes with ISOFIX child-seat mounts and 3-point ELR seat belts that retract easily during normal use and lock securely in emergencies.

Negatives:

• The Maruti Fronx has not yet been tested by Global NCAP or Bharat NCAP for crash safety ratings. However, its sibling, the Baleno on which it is based, has scored a 4-star Bharat NCAP rating.
• The addition of ADAS features would have significantly improved the Fronx’s overall safety and driver-assistance package.
  

Positives:

• The Maruti Fronx features a sharp aerodynamic design with a bold front and rear fascia, muscular styling, and 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels for a strong road presence.
• Its raised suspension and larger tyres give it a more commanding stance than the Baleno.
• Sleek LED headlights, LED DRLs, and connected LED taillamps add to its modern appeal.
• The cabin gets premium dual-tone upholstery, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a 9-inch HD infotainment screen, and a dual-tone dashboard with metal accents.
• Though it shares some elements with the Baleno, the Fronx’s cabin feels fresher and more upmarket than typical Maruti hatchbacks.
• It is offered in 10 colour options, including three dual-tone combinations.

Negatives:

• The interior layout, colour theme and textures look quite similar to other Maruti models, leaving room for more individuality and a more upmarket feel.
