Ampere is revving up to expand its business portfolio in India. The electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility has recently launched the all-new Ampere Magnus Grand e-scooter for the next-gen family. The brand priced the scooter at Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom) in India. This new scooter marks a pivotal moment for Greaves, promoting sustainable mobility in India.
The Magnus Grand is positioned to elevate the urban commute experience with advanced battery technology, impressive practicality, and user-focused design enhancements. With the release of the new scooter, Ampere aims to reshape the perception of family electric scooters through a harmonious blend of performance, safety, and modern aesthetics. As the name suggests, Grand will bring a new edge to everyday riding in terms of style, comfort, and safety.
Distinctive Design and Family Appeal

Talking about its design, the Magnus Grand retains most of its design highlights from its predecessor model, the Ampere Magnus Neo. We can see very subtle exterior design changes incorporated through the body contours. However, with the new update model, the brand has provided two new dual-tone color schemes for the Indian customers. These two new colors are Matcha Green and Ocean Blue, encapsulated with gold-finish badging.
At the rear, the e-scooter comes with integrated LED taillights and a refined grab rail, which create an upmarket presence. The long, contoured seat enhances riding comfort, while a spacious 22-liter underseat storage ensures everyday practicality for families.
From The Director’s Desk
Speaking about the launch event, Mr. Vikas Singh, Managing Director of Greaves Electric Mobility, said, “The Magnus Grand represents a significant leap towards electric mobility. The scooter highlights Ampere’s focus on real-world performance, safety, and design. Crafted to meet the evolving needs of families and commuters.”
He later added, “With the Magnus Grand, we are empowering riders to raise their expectations, offering enhanced comfort, better safety, and convenience that transforms everyday journeys into truly confident and enjoyable experiences, backed by the reliability of our after-sales promise, Ampere Care.”
Ampere Magnus Grand: Performance, Battery, and Range

The new electric scooter is powered by a 2.3 kWh LFP battery pack, which is both removable and engineered for safety and long-term resilience. With this battery configuration setup, the vehicle is capable of generating a motor output of 2.4 kW, achieving a top speed of 65 kmph. Ampere claims an ARAI-certified range of 118 km per charge. This significant average claim makes it highly capable for daily commutes. The battery can be fully charged in just 5-6 hours.
Practical Features and Enhanced Safety
The recently launched Ampere Magnus Grand is equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster and LED lighting. Furthermore, the scooter offers significant features like a USB charging port, a carry hook, and a reverse mode for easy maneuvering. Safety is prioritized with a strengthened chassis and a combined braking system (CBS) using 130 mm drum brakes at both ends.
Conclusion
The Magnus Grand competes directly with popular models like the Vida VX2, Vida V2, and TVS iQube. While it may offer premium options like alloy wheels and advanced connectivity as standard, its mix of affordability, impressive range, and robust build quality distinguishes it in the EV segment.
