Ampere Nexus

Ampere has once again caught the attention of both EV enthusiasts and everyday commuters. Ampere, the electric two-wheeler arm of Greaves Electric Mobility, has shattered conventions by making its R&D process public with a full teardown of its flagship Nexus electric scooter. It was held at their Innovation Lab in BKC, Mumbai. This event was not any part of brand promotion or something, but it acted as an open invitation for Indian customers.

Ampere is setting a new industry benchmark. For the first time, Indian buyers could see inside a high-performance EV, understanding not just what makes it tick but why it deserves their trust.

Ampere’s Technical Teardown: Inside the Innovation Lab

Ampere’s technical teardown was revealed in a comprehensive engineering deep-dive video. The activity was conducted by senior R&D leaders who guided viewers through every engineering detail of the Nexus. As one spokesperson summarized,

“This is not just an electric scooter—it’s a product of deep thought, engineering care, and countless hours of real-world testing.”

Ampere became the first Indian electric scooter manufacturer to represent the radical transparency of its research and development. The brand released a detailed teardown video so that the Indian customers could take a deep dive into Nexus’s design, testing, and validation protocols.

What does the video cover?

The video above covers the Nexus’s dual cradle frame and lithium-ion phosphate battery pack. The clip also shows the e-scooter battery management system and the rugged suspension configuration, along with the tire badged with the design.

The research and development team also shows representation of performance structure, such as the ride quality, e-scooter’s thermal management, and chassis durability, supported by a teardown-technical dismantle video.

Every Ampere Nexus undergoes over 50,000 kilometers of validation testing, from scorching summers to chaotic city traffic. This ensures that the vehicle upholds its performance and safety under real-world challenges.

Industry First: Engineering Transparency as Brand Trust

Ampere is now among the first Indian EV manufacturers to publicly share teardown-level details of a family scooter. As one of the seniors from R&D quoted, “We wanted to move beyond just marketing gigs and show the actual work behind our engineering.” The Nexus is not just built for today; it is built for India’s next generation of mobility.”

Such openness is rare in India, where competitors like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, and TVS iQube have so far only shared selective specs or controlled information. Ampere’s bold move sets a benchmark for trust, proving its premium EV claims with evidence.

This unprecedented transparency comes on the heels of Ampere. The Nexus was recently named the Electric Scooter of the Year 2025. By exposing its design and engineering to the public, it aims to set a new standard of trust and loyalty in India’s two-wheeler market.
