Design & Build
The Ampere Nexus features an LED headlight & taillight and turn signals for a modern look and enhanced visibility. The Nexus has been built with an excellent fit and finish with no visible panel gaps or dangling wires, ensuring a polished appearance. A spacious seat which accommodates two adults comfortably, while the under-seat storage (24 litres) and front cubbyhole add practicality within the e-scooter. The Nexus also includes functional vents for enhanced cooling performance during high-speed rides.
Features & Technology
The EX variant under the Nexus features a 6.2-inch LCD screen, while the ST variant includes a premium 7-inch TFT touchscreen with Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. The Nexus also offers turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, and music control. Nexus features five different riding modes, namely Eco, City, Power, Limp Home (activated below 20% battery), and Reverse. The OTA updates in the Nexus enable software upgrades remotely for improved functionality over time. Considering the safety features, the Nexus showcases its Nex.Armour chassis reinforcement, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, and tubeless tyres for stability.
Ride & Handling
The Nexus' comfortable ergonomics assist with an upright riding posture, and the well-padded seats ensure comfort during long commutes. The e-scooter's lightweight design paired with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers makes it nimble in traffic. The suspension is firm but becomes plush when riding with a pillion. The Nexus' braking system features front disc brakes that provide effective stopping power. The rear drum brakes complement the setup for balanced braking performance.

The Nexus is equipped with a 3 kWh lithium-ion iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which is known for its thermal stability and longevity, particularly suited for the hot Indian climate. Ampere claims a certified range of 136 km on a full charge, although real-world tests suggest that users can expect around 105 km in Eco mode under typical riding conditions.
This range is sufficient for daily commute needs, allowing riders to travel without frequent recharges. The charging time is also commendable; it takes approximately 3.3 to 4 hours to fully charge the battery using a standard 15A charger, with an optional 25A fast charger available for quicker charging sessions.
In terms of performance, the Ampere Nexus features a 4 kW motor, which provides brisk acceleration and a top speed of 93 km/h in power mode. The scooter offers five riding modes: Eco, City, Power, Limp Home, and Reverse.
