India recorded its highest-ever electric two-wheeler (2W EV) monthly sales in October 2025, clocking 1,43,174 units as per official industry sources. This remarkable performance marked a 37% month-on-month surge, a testament to the combination of festive season demand, enhanced dealer activations, and a maturing EV ecosystem. Analysts attribute this increase in sales to robust consumer offers, ongoing shifts in automotive preferences, and the successful expansion of retail and digital sales channels.
1. Bajaj Auto Reclaims The Top Position
October 2025 witnessed Bajaj Auto back at the top, a significant development after six months of TVS Motor’s market domination. Bajaj Auto sold 31,202 electric two-wheelers, claiming 21.8% of the market. This figure was fueled by the high demand for its Chetak electric scooter and refreshed production cycles that resolved earlier bottlenecks.
2. TVS Moved to 2nd Spot with 3% Y-o-Y
TVS Motor, with its ever-popular iQube series, secured second place with 29,492 units (20.6% share), maintaining a strong urban presence and benefiting from consistent brand loyalty. TVS has sold around 14,089 units in the first quarter of October 2025. The most successful sales were brought by TVS iQube; the manufacturer sold another 15,395 EVs in the month of October 2025.
3. Ather Energy
Ather Energy posted its highest-ever monthly sales, delivering 28,082 vehicles and capturing 19.6% market share. The surge was fueled by the positive reception of new product variants and aggressive retail expansion, especially in metro and Tier-1 cities.
4. Ola Electric Faces Setback
One of the month’s key stories was the sharp decline in Ola Electric’s market position. Once a resilient market leader, Ola slipped to a distant fourth place, registering 16,034 units. Experts attribute this drop to increased competition, changing market sentiment, and the non-recurrence of previous volume drivers.
5. Hero MotoCorp
Hero MotoCorp continued to consolidate its position with 15,935 units, implementing strategic offers to drive penetration, particularly with its Vida brand. Last month, the brand registered monthly sales of around 15,934 units and the highest market share yet of 11%. However, in October, the sales experienced a 117% increase in year-on-year sales.

Industry-Wide Implications
The October sales surge signals more than just temporary festive momentum. Top manufacturers have demonstrated agility by improving supply chains, launching value-centric products, and investing in consumer financing schemes. Looking ahead, industry watchers expect sustained growth as more consumers transition to electric mobility, incentivized by policy support, strategic pricing, and ongoing product innovation.
Conclusion
October 2025’s landmark performance has redefined the competitive map of India’s electric two-wheeler segment. With Bajaj Auto at the top of the manufacturer list, it is now set for an even more intense contest in the coming quarter. India’s 2W EV market promises sharper competition, brisk innovation, and record-setting performances well into the future.
