The recent and upcoming bikes of TVS include the Victor BS6, TVS Zeppelin and TVS Creon. The most expensive bike from TVS is Apache RR310. TVS was founded by T. V. Sundaram Iyengar. He was born in 1877 in Thirukkurungudi in the Tirunelveli district of Madras Presidency, British India. He started the first bus service in Madurai in the year 1911 and founded T.V.Sundaram Iyengar and Sons Limited, a company in the transportation business with a large fleet of buses and trucks working under the name of Southern Roadways Limited. When he passed away in 1955, his sons took the brand ahead by starting different businesses in the automobile sector, including insurance, finance, and manufacturing of two-wheelers, tyres, as well as, components. The south Indian company established a plant at Hosur in the year 1978, to produce mopeds as part of their new division. India's first two-seater moped, TVS 50, rolled out of the factory at Hosur in Tamil Nadu, in the year 1980. TVS and Suzuki had a 19-year-long partnership that had been formed to focus on enabling design, technology transfer, and manufacturing two-wheelers, especially for the Indian market. The alliance was renamed as TVS-Suzuki, and during this time the company brought out various models such as the Suzuki Samurai, Suzuki Shogun and Suzuki Fiero. In 2001, after ending the partnership with Suzuki, the brand was renamed TVS Motor. In 2015, TVS Racing became the first Indian factory team to take part in the Dakar rally, which is one of the longest and most dangerous rallies in the world. TVS Racing also partnered with French motorcycle manufacturer Sherco for the Dakar rally and named the team Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team. The company has four manufacturing plants around the globe out of which three are located in India (Hosur in Tamil Nadu, Mysore in Karnataka, and Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh) and one in Indonesia (Karawang).
