Rapid Growth in Sales Volume

The pace of TVS's electric scooter sales has increased significantly over time. The company sold its first 1 lakh units over a period of more than three years. However, the next 1 lakh units were sold in just 10 months. TVS reached the 3 lakh milestone in April 2024, 52 months after launch. Sales growth then accelerated, with the jump from 3 lakh to 7 lakh units taking only 17 months. The move from 7 lakh to 8 lakh units was completed in just three months, between October and December 2025.
The last 1 lakh units were sold in only 75 days, averaging 1,333 units per day between March 28 and June 10, 2026. In May 2026, TVS recorded its best-ever monthly sales, delivering 51,605 units. This is the second-highest monthly sales figure for an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, behind Ola Electric's 53,647 units in May 2024.
Market Share and Segment Performance
TVS's market share in the electric two-wheeler segment has grown alongside its sales. In 2020, TVS held a 1 percent market share. By 2022, this figure had risen to 8 percent. In 2023, TVS crossed the 20 percent mark for the first time, selling 1,77,024 units that year.
The year 2025 marked a significant breakthrough for TVS. The company sold 3,15,083 electric scooters and became the segment's leading player from April 2025. TVS has maintained this top position since then. In 2026, TVS has already delivered 2,19,232 units, which is 70 percent of its total sales for 2025. At its current daily average of 1,361 units, TVS is on track to cross the 5 lakh annual sales milestone for the first time. This would represent a growth of more than 57 percent over its previous best year.
Broader Market Trends
The overall electric two-wheeler segment in India is also experiencing strong growth. In 2026, the segment is averaging over 1,55,000 units sold per month. This trend puts the sector on course to approach 2 million annual sales for the first time. Rising petrol prices, influenced by the West Asia crude oil crisis, are contributing to increased demand for electric vehicles.
