The iconic British motorcycle brand BSA has taken a giant leap forward by unveiling its first-ever adventure bike, the BSA Thunderbolt, at EICMA 2025. This new model defines BSA’s rich legacy while boldly stepping into the future of adventure motorcycling, crafted to excel on diverse terrains from urban streets to rugged tracks.
The BSA Thunderbolt marks the brand’s fourth model since its introduction, announced just three months after the launch of the BSA Bantam 350 and Scrambler 650. This bike is tailored for modern riders who seek versatility, combining a powerful engine, advanced rider technology, and off-road thrills with the classic BSA heritage.
Modern Look With Classic Heritage
Talking about the design, the Thunderbolt offers a fresh yet nostalgic stance on BSA’s history, inspired by the original Thunderbolt. It was the last bike to roll off the Birmingham production line in 1972. The modern iteration is built on a meticulously engineered platform that balances heritage styling with contemporary performance. It features rugged aesthetics such as a rally-style beak, rear luggage rack, and knuckle guards, all designed to enhance its adventurous persona.
BSA Thunderbolt: Engine & Performance

Under the steel frame lies the Euro 5-compliant 334 cc single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine, paired with a 6-speed gearbox configuration. Its high torque output ensures capable performance whether commuting or riding through the fast lane. With a robust 15.5-liter fuel tank, riders can enjoy extended journeys without frequent refueling.
The bike also boasts advanced safety and control technologies, including traction control, three ABS modes (Rain, Road, and Off-Road), USD forks, a preload-adjustable mono rear shock, and a slip and assist clutch. These features collectively provide confidence and superior handling across varying road and off-road conditions.
Built for Durability and Comfort

The bike is designed for challenging terrains. The Thunderbolt incorporates high ground clearance, a reinforced bash plate, and an integrated exoskeleton frame for added protection. The ergonomic seating position, low seat height, lightweight frame, and wide handlebars ensure excellent maneuverability for riders of all skill levels.
Rider convenience is enhanced with an adjustable front windshield and a smart instrument console featuring turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and USB charging ports. This blend of comfort and connectivity supports both daily rides and long-distance adventures.
From The Directors’ Desk
Speaking about the event, Mr. Boman Irani, Director and Co-founder of Classic Legends, which owns BSA, said, “The new BSA Thunderbolt is adventure-ready and engineered to go the distance. Combining dynamic on- and off-roading capabilities, unrivaled performance, and effortless usability, our new bike inspires confidence.”
He later added, “It is a true motorcycling legend. Unveiling the new BSA Thunderbolt at EICMA 2025, the biggest international motorcycle show, underscores our intention to bring BSA back to the world stage.”
Conclusion
The BSA Thunderbolt is expected to reach markets by mid-2026, ready to redefine what a modern adventure bike can be for a new generation of riders worldwide. As BSA continues its resurgence, the Thunderbolt promises to captivate adventure enthusiasts and reinforce the brand’s legendary status in the global motorcycle arena, setting a new benchmark for performance, style, and heritage combined.
