The upcoming Kia Syros EV Spied Before Its Official Debut
The Kia Syros EV has been spotted testing in India, signaling its arrival in early 2026. With a 355 km range and advanced tech features, it aims to rival the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 in the affordable electric SUV market.

Kia India is making plans to expand its automotive business in India. In July, the brand launched multiple EV products like the Caren Clavis EV in India and now seems to be doing the same with the existing Kia Syros. A recent spy shot surfaced of the upcoming Kia Syros EV, which went viral among auto enthusiasts.
The upcoming Kia Syros EV was heavily camouflaged as its test mule was recently spotted charging publicly. Although there are no official updates from the brand. However, we have already witnessed the car and what it might look like when revealed in the future. The car might compete against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV, the Mahindra XUV400, and the Citroen eC3. Let’s check out the details of what’s new coming with the Syros EV.
Contemporary Design
The recent test mule was spotted while charging at a public DC fast charger, revealing that the charging port is present on the front fender of the car. While looking at the car, one must find a similar appearance of the Syros EV with that of the standard Syros. Some minor exterior tweaks we can see, such as the all-new Lime Green brake calipers, which were typically used in GT models. The car also features disc brakes arched with aero-optimized alloy wheels.
Compared to its ICE iteration, the Kia Syros, the EV might also come with front and rear parking sensors, and for safety purposes, adaptive cruise control and ADAS level 2 as standard for customers. From the side profile, the car possesses a boxy, rugged, muscular stance with auto-functional ORVM.
Expected Interior
As the car was heavily camouflaged, there were no updates for the interiors. However, expectations are high, as the brand might offer dual 12.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and for the infotainment system. Inside the cabin, a panoramic sunroof, premium leather upholstery, and ventilated second-row seats may come as standard for buyers. For safety purposes, a 360-degree camera, hill control assist, ADAS Level 2, and blind spot detection are poised with refined performance.
Battery, Range, and Performance

As Kia is a subsidiary brand of Hyundai, most of the power aesthetics will be shared by the Hyundai Inster EV. The pre-production unit may be based on the K1 platform, which features a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. For the Kia Syros EV, the brand might power up the car with the Hyundai EV configuration. The Kia Syros EV might come with two different battery packs as an option for customers.
