Kia India Partners with ASDC to Launch Advanced Skilling Program for Automotive Professionals
Kia India teams up with ASDC to deliver an innovative 30-day training program, preparing automotive professionals for emerging electric and hybrid vehicle technologies, supporting India’s Skill India mission.

Kia India has recently announced that it will expand its business portfolio in India. The brand has taken a major step by signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ASDC to upskill the entry-level engineers and diploma holders. This agreement will enhance the skills and work enforcement as per the industry's needs. The agreement was signed today by both parties, and they share mutual satisfaction with the MoU.
By this deal, new generation engineers or technicians may get the chance to join as interns and learn the basics of automotive engineering. They also get a chance to witness the hands-on experience by visiting the factory or assembly to learn the mechanical skills that will be required in the industry in the future. Let us take a look at what this new MoU offers for future generations of workers and engineers.
Driving the Future of Automotive Talent
Kia Auto India joins hands with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) to offer an industry-academia partnership. This MoU is important, as it will help in building a sustainable skilling ecosystem and enhance placement support. With the introduction of EV adoption, customer experience is playing a central role in India’s mobility transformation.
This collaboration aims to build a structured talent pipeline through an innovative training program that blends theoretical knowledge with real-world application. The deal will be beneficial in order to impact structured training, certification, and recruitment, aligning with the Skill India Mission.
Immersive 30-Day Training Model
The program features a 30-day module that bridges classroom learning and dealership practice.
- 15 days of foundational automotive training will be conducted at ASDC-certified centers.
- 15 days of practical, hands-on exposure will take place at authorized Kia dealerships.
This dual approach equips candidates with in-depth technical skills while instilling Kia’s brand-specific service values of quality, care, and innovation. Furthermore, this joint effort is expected to significantly boost industrial workforce readiness in these critical areas.
Preparing for an Electric and Hybrid Future
With India’s rapid move toward electric mobility and evolving consumer preferences, Kia’s skilling initiative focuses on preparing the workforce for next-gen automotive technologies. As per the report, speaking to the initiative, Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, said, “We are committed to shaping a future-ready ecosystem anchored in skilled human capital and elevated customer experience.”
He also added, “By creating a talent and skill pool through infrastructure under training and verification, we not only empower India’s youth with employment but also reinforce our dealership networks with professionalism.”
Boosting Employment and Dealer Network Strength
The program not only supports India’s Skill India Mission but also creates meaningful employment opportunities for young aspirants. Kia dealerships stand to benefit from a supply of well-trained professionals capable of delivering an elevated ownership experience. However, this program will translate into a more essential, informed, and rewarding journey for every Kia customer across the nation.
Conclusion
Kia India’s partnership with ASDC marks a strategic leap in workforce transformation, blending skill development with future mobility trends. Those candidates that underwent an evaluation at the ASDC center get an experience certificate by Kia India and ASDC and will be directly eligible for direct recruitment by Kia dealerships into sales and services roles.
