Toyota Hilux Travo Spied Testing: Hybrid Power, Sleeker Design & 2025 Launch Details

Spy shots have caught the Toyota Hilux Travo testing, suggesting some cool updates for this fan-favorite pickup. The front end sports slimmer headlights with LED daytime running lights linked by a plastic strip that probably houses the Toyota badge.

Up top, the grille looks bigger before narrowing down, with a radar unit tucked into the lower section to support advanced driver-assist tech. While the dual-cab body seems borrowed from the current Hilux Revo (8th Gen), Toyota might position the Travo as a fresh generation, mirroring their approach with the latest Camry.

The side profile stays familiar, but there’s a fresh set of alloy wheels and beefy tires to tackle rough terrain. Inside, the front seats appear unchanged from today’s model.

Under the hood, the big news is a 2.8L turbo-diesel engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, boosting fuel efficiency by around 10% over the outgoing model. It’ll churn out 201 horsepower and a hefty 500 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Rumor has it the Hilux Travo will hit Thailand by late 2025, with India likely following in 2026.
