Upcoming Citroen Basalt Teased with Exciting New Interior Features

Citroen is preparing to introduce its fifth model in India, the Basalt SUV Coupe, with an official launch scheduled for August 2. The Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe will compete with vehicles like the Tata Curvv and established models such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the compact SUV segment. Citroen has been releasing teaser videos, gradually revealing the Basalt's exterior and interior features, generating interest in the upcoming launch.

The Basalt's interior appears to share several elements with the C3 Aircross, including:

• A 10.2-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
• A digital driver display, likely around 7 inches in size
• Dashboard-mounted air conditioning controls

Additional features expected in the Basalt SUV Coupe include:

• Front and rear armrests with cupholders

• Six airbags

Externally, the Basalt adopts a coupe profile, distinguishing it from Citroen's previous Indian models. Teaser videos highlight key elements such as signature LED DRLs, projector headlamps, C-shaped wraparound LED taillights, and traditional Citroën badging on the bonnet. The SUV will also sport all-black alloy wheels, likely measuring around 16 inches.

Under the hood, the Basalt will likely use the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine found in the C3 Aircross. This engine produces 115 bhp and 215 Nm of torque and is expected to be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or a torque converter automatic transmission.
