Upcoming Skoda SUV: Skoda has been working on a new compact SUV for a long time. The test mule of the upcoming SUV has been recently spotted in Pune. Surprisingly, the compact SUV was spotted beside the Tata Punch and Tata Nexon which are two of its greatest rival. Although the test mule was heavily camouflaged, we can get a fair idea of the design language of the upcoming SUV. Check out more details below.
Skoda Upcoming Compact SUV: Design Details
After having a look at the test mule, it seems that the upcoming Skoda compact SUV will follow the brand’s basic design language. The automaker is reported to position the upcoming SUV below the Kushaq. Apart from this, the spy shots suggest that the Skoda’s upcoming compact SUV will be bigger in dimensions than the Punch EV.
The spy shots also suggest that the compact SUV will have an aggressive and muscular-looking stance which is visible even after the heavy camouflaging of the vehicle. The major design elements of the compact SUV include a split LED headlights, and LED DRLs. The SUV will expectedly come at the back side with C-shaped angular LED tail lights. The C-SUV is expected to have halogen turn indicators and reverse lights on some entry-level variants.

After a sneak peek at the interiors of the test mule, it seems that the Skoda’s compact SUV is equipped with a TFT digital console and a big touchscreen infotainment display. The dashboard of the compact SUV looks quite clean which gives a clean look to the interiors. Remember that there is no surety over that this will be the production model, we can expect some major changes in the final production model in the future.
Skoda Compact SUV: Engine
Skoda has clarified that the upcoming SUV will get a 1.0-litre TFSI engine, the same engine that comes with the Skoda Slavia. The given powertrain churns out the maximum power of 113 bhp and a peak torque of 178 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter unit.
Skoda Compact SUV: Price and Rivals
The upcoming SUV will be priced between Rs. 8 lakh to 12 lakh which will position this C-SUV as a great rival to the recently introduced Mahindra 3XO and other players in the segment like Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue.
