Key Highlights

  • VinFast extends free EV charging in India until March 31 2029
  • Program covers both new and existing VinFast electric vehicle buyers
  • Charging network developed with RoadGrid and HPCL for wider access
  • VinFast VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs launched in India in September 2025

Charging Network Expansion

This free charging initiative is part of VinFast’s V-Green ecosystem. The V-Green network is VinFast’s proprietary charging infrastructure, designed to support electric vehicle adoption. In India, VinFast is developing this network with local partners to improve accessibility and coverage in key regions.

VinFast has partnered with RoadGrid to deploy fast-charging stations in high-demand locations. The collaboration also includes select outlets operated by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), which increases access to charging facilities. RoadGrid identifies suitable locations and manages on-ground operations and maintenance. VinFast oversees the broader ecosystem, including software integration and network ownership.

In addition to charging infrastructure, RoadGrid supports VinFast’s aftersales network. Plans are underway to establish service workshops across India. However, VinFast has not disclosed the total number of operational charging points in the country.

Broader Strategy and Global Context

Globally, VinFast operates a large charging network in Vietnam. The company is rolling out similar initiatives in Indonesia and the Philippines. In India, VinFast’s current vehicle portfolio includes the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. Both models were introduced in September 2025.

VinFast has also launched limited-period programs such as exchange incentives. These programs encourage customers to switch from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles. The extension of the free charging policy reflects VinFast’s strategy to reduce running costs for EV users and support the transition to electric mobility. The long-term sustainability of these incentives will depend on network expansion and usage patterns.
