VinFast Electric Scooter Plans

VinFast aims to establish a presence in the Indian electric two-wheeler market. The company will introduce three electric scooters, with launches scheduled for the latter half of 2026. These scooters will be available at VinFast-exclusive showrooms across India. The rollout of these outlets will begin in major metropolitan areas before expanding further.

One of the expected models is the VinFast Viper. This scooter features a large and sporty design, with sharp creases and an LED headlight integrated into the front apron. The Viper is powered by a 3kW electric motor and uses a 1.5kWh removable battery pack. This removable battery allows users to charge it separately, and an additional battery pack can be added to increase the range to 156 km.

Features and Market Challenges

The VinFast Viper offers two ride modes: Eco and Power. The Eco mode is designed to maximize the scooter's range. Other features include keyless start-stop and a color TFT display, enhancing convenience and usability for riders.

VinFast faces significant challenges as it enters the Indian market. The company must build a robust sales and service network, establish charging infrastructure, and determine competitive pricing. India's electric two-wheeler market already has established competitors, making market entry demanding.

Once launched, VinFast's electric scooters will compete with existing models from other manufacturers. The company's phased approach to opening showrooms and introducing new products reflects its strategy to gain a foothold in a rapidly growing market.
