Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast is set to make waves at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. We’ve obtained exclusive details confirming that the EV startup will unveil its complete lineup of electric scooters alongside a compact yet diverse range of electric cars during the event.
Currently, VinFast offers seven electric scooters in its home market of Vietnam. These include entry-level models such as the Motio, Evo200, and Evo200 Lite, while the Feliz S and Klara S serve as mid-tier options. Rounding out the range are premium offerings like the Theon S and Vento S, marketed under the brand’s "High-Class" category. All these scooters feature a 3.5 kWh battery, differing in top speeds and design, except for the Motio, which comes equipped with a smaller 1.26 kWh battery.
Last year, VinFast captured headlines in India with two significant milestones. First was the signing of an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government, followed by the establishment of an EV manufacturing plant spanning 400 acres in Thoothukudi. Additionally, the company trademarked the design patent for the Klara S in India, hinting that this model could be its first electric scooter launch in the country.
The VinFast Klara S is powered by a 3.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery paired with a 3 kW in-hub electric motor, offering a top speed of 78 km/h. VinFast claims the Klara S has a range of up to 194 km on a single charge, an impressive figure compared to rivals like the Ola S1 Pro and TVS iQube, which deliver 181 km and 150 km, respectively, despite having largkm, 4 kWh, and 5.1 kWh batteries. In Vietnam, the Klara S retails for 3,20,00,000 VND (approximately ₹1.09 lakh, ex-showroom). If VinFast manages to maintain competitive pricing in India, it could emerge as a strong contender in the electric scooter segment.
In a parallel development, VinFast debuted its DrgnFly electric bike at last year’s Consumer Electronics Show, available exclusively in the U.S. market. Featuring chunky tires and a design reminiscent of an advanced e-cycle, the DrgnFly offers both pedal assist and a full EV mode. Whepedal assiststinctive bike will make an appearance at Bharat Mandapam remains to be seen.
VinFast has ambitious plans for India. In addition to introducing a range of affordable and premium EVs, the company aims to establish a nationwide charging infrastructure. This includes setting up charging stations to support its products and enhance EV adoption in the country.
With such a promising lineup and forward-looking strategy, VinFast’s presence at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, scheduled from January 17-22, is shaping up to be a showstopper. Stay tuned for surprises as the Vietnamese automaker makes its mark on Indian soil.
