VinFast VF6 & VF7 Launch Expected Before Diwali
VinFast offers this flagship electric car in international markets in Eco and Plus variants. The VF6 Eco trims get a 59.6 kWh battery pack with a front axle-mounted electric motor.
VinFast, Vietnam’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, is all set to begin its India operation with the launch of two flagship electric SUVs, VF6 & VF7. Both EVs are expected to debut officially before the Diwali season this year. VinFast plans to make a notable investment of $2 billion to build a fully functional EV manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The EV maker is also in talks with the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments to set the foundation for additional manufacturing plants in the country.
What to Expect from VinFast VF6 & VF7 SUVs?
VinFast VF6
VinFast VF6 SUV gets the brand’s signature V-shaped LED lighting setup with a full-width DRL stripe and aerodynamic design profile. It also features 19-inch alloy wheels and measures 4238 mm in length, 1820 mm in width, and 1594 mm in height. This upcoming VinFast SUV has a wheelbase of 2730 mm.
As per the available information, the EV gets a minimalist and modern interior layout with a floating center display and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The VF6 EV comes mated with a range of features like a digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS suite, 6 airbags, auto emergency brakes, and a 360-degree camera, and also supports over-the-air software updates.
VinFast offers this flagship electric car in international markets in Eco and Plus variants. The VF6 Eco trims get a 59.6 kWh battery pack with a front axle-mounted electric motor. This configuration enables the Eco trim to produce 178 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The Plus trim produces 204 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. VinFast claims a top range of 399 km in Eco trim, while the 381 km range for Plus trim.
VinFast VF7
Recently spotted in Mumbai, the VinFast VF7 is also one of the most anticipated VinFast cars expected to launch this year. It also features a futuristic design with sharp lines. The EV has a signature V-light bar front and rear with a complete LED setup. The model also offers 20-inch alloy wheels and a high-tech interior configuration.
For instance, it has a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, built-in VinFast assistant and Alexa support, a panoramic sunroof, and a fully digital instrument cluster. The VF7 has seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, adaptive cruise control, and automated parking for safety purposes. The VF7 SUV is available in two trims with 75.3 kWh battery pack options in select markets.
The base Eco variant gets a single electric motor, producing 204 bhp and 310 Nm of torque, while the top-spec Plus variant gets dual electric motors to churn out 354 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. VinFast claims a maximum range of 450 Km for Eco trim and 431 km for Plus trim. Additionally, the VF7 electric SUV measures 4545 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1636 mm in height.
The India-spec variant will likely retain most of the features offered in the International-spec variants. However, there would be some India-specific enhancements and feature updates to offer a more tailored experience to customers.
