Volkswagen Taigun Highline Plus Facelift: Features, Safety, and Engine Details
Volkswagen has unveiled the facelifted Taigun Highline Plus, offering updated styling, enhanced features, and advanced safety. The variant includes a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, sunroof, and digital instrument cluster.

Volkswagen has introduced the facelifted Taigun, featuring updated styling, new features, and revised powertrains. The Highline Plus variant, positioned above the Highline trim, offers several premium and practical features without reaching the price of top-spec models. This variant aims to balance advanced features with sensible pricing for compact SUV buyers.
Key Highlights
- Volkswagen Taigun Highline Plus facelift introduces refreshed styling and new features
- Highline Plus offers full LED headlamps, sunroof, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Safety features include 6 airbags, ESC, hill start assist, and a reverse parking camera
- Available with a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine in both manual and automatic options
Exterior and Interior Enhancements

The Taigun Highline Plus is a non-GT variant with chrome finishes and modern design updates. At the front, it features full LED headlamps with LED DRLs, auto-levelling, and cornering lights. However, it does not include the new illuminated VW logo or the connected LED light strip. The front bumper retains chrome highlights and a silver diffuser, giving the SUV a bold look.
The side profile includes 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handle appliques, and silver roof rails, but lacks chrome garnish along the window line. The variant also comes with ORVMs that have integrated turn indicators. At the rear, LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators and welcome/goodbye animations are standard. A chrome strip on the bumper and ‘TAIGUN’ lettering further enhance the rear design.
Inside, the Highline Plus offers a grey dashboard with cross-line inserts and ambient lighting, including footwell illumination. Practical features include a sliding front armrest, rear AC vents, a 60:40 split-folding rear seat, and a rear centre armrest with cup holders. The addition of a rear parcel tray and a sunroof distinguishes it from lower variants. Higher trims offer leatherette upholstery and a panoramic sunroof.
Technology, Safety, and Powertrain

The Highline Plus comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paired with a 6-speaker sound system. An 8-inch digital instrument cluster is also included. Other features are a single-pane sunroof, automatic climate control, wireless phone charger, and cruise control for automatic variants. Additional conveniences include a cooled glovebox, electrically folding ORVMs, one-touch up/down driver window, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, and auto headlights. Ventilated and powered front seats are reserved for higher variants.
Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, multi-collision braking, and hill start assist for automatic variants. The variant also provides front and rear parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, tyre pressure deflation warning, ISOFIX child seat mounts, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, and rain and light sensors.
The Taigun Highline Plus is available only with the 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, offered in both 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmissions. A more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine is available in higher variants. Official prices for the facelifted Taigun are yet to be announced, but expected variant-wise pricing is anticipated soon.
