Volkswagen is making ways to bring the upcoming Tayron R-Line top-spec model to India. The brand has unofficially unveiled the Tayron R-Line for India, with images surfacing online, igniting anticipation among Indian buyers craving a premium three-row SUV that fuses German engineering with everyday usability. This flagship promises to eclipse the Tiguan R-Line, filling the void left by the discontinued Tiguan Allspace in the automotive industry.
Recent images confirm the Tayron R-Line arrives as CKD-assembled, targeting a launch in Q1 2026. The car might be priced at Rs 45 to Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It leverages local production for a competitive edge against rivals like the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and MG Gloster. The latest images showcase its aggressive stance, panoramic sunroof, and spacious cabin. Let’s check out the exterior design, specs, and features for the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron R-Line.

The upcoming Volkswagen Tayron R-Line embodies Volkswagen's latest SUV ethos with illuminated front and rear light signatures framing a wide, planted stance. Talking about its dimensions, the car has a 2,789 mm wheelbase, 109 mm longer than the Tiguan. It accommodates seven genuine seats without compromising style, rolling on 19-inch Coventry alloys and sporty R-Line bumpers.
Built on the MQB EVO platform, the design emphasizes proportions for road presence. At the front, the car offers Matrix LED headlamps and full-width rear lights that enhance visibility and premium appeal, positioning it as Volkswagen's top SUV in India post-Tiguan Allspace exit in 2021.
While getting inside the car, we might boost a horizontal dashboard that amplifies width, dominated by a driver-angled 15-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, along with controlling core functions. The brand offers front ergoActive Plus seats in Varenna leather, which offer 10-point massage and ventilation ideal for Indian heat, paired with 30-color ambient lighting.
Third-row usability shines with up to 850 liters of boot space when folded, plus a panoramic sunroof flooding light across rows. On the dashboard, we might expect a 10.25-inch digital cluster, three-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, and Level 2 ADAS with nine airbags as standard.

Indian customers can expect a 2.0L TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine that produces 204 HP of power and 320 Nm of torque. This powerful engine will be paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission system and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION AWD drivetrain. This powertrain offers smooth shifts, and all-wheel grip ensures confident handling for family hauls or highway sprints.
Volkswagen's CKD strategy sharpens pricing against these, emphasizing petrol refinement and safety. As premium three-row demand surges, the Tayron R-Line eyes discerning buyers seeking space without excess. Official specs near launch will clarify final tweaks. Once the car launches in India, it will take on rivals such as the Skoda Kodiaq facelift, the Jeep Meridian, and the MG Gloster in the premium SUV segment.
As the first images of the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line surfaced across social media, they demonstrated Volkswagen's bold recalibration for India's premium family hauler segment. With German precision scaled for Indian roads, ready to claim its space among luxury three-row contenders. The car is expected for a Q1 2026 to mark a pivotal shift.
