Confused between Hyundai Creta N-Line, Kia Seltos X-Line, Volkswagen Taigun GT & Skoda Kushaq 1.5 TSI? Here's our comprehensive comparison between the 4 mid size SUVs.

The midsize SUV segment now has a new entrant. The newly launched Creta N-Line comes as the option for customers who are looking for a performance focused and fun to drive SUV in the mid size segment. The new N-Line Creta gets a number of cosmetic changes. Moreover, Hyundai has also re-tuned the steering & suspension setup for a more sporty and dynamic driving experience. With the N-Line, the Creta now stands as a true competitor to the most powerful models in the segment i.e. Kia Seltos X-Line, Volkswagen Taigun GT and Skoda Kushaq 1.5 TSI. As all the 4 SUVs have the 1.5 litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection (T-GDi) petrol engines, here’s a detailed comparison between the 4 performance focused mid size SUVs.
Talking about the dimension of all the 4 SUVs, the Kia Seltos is the longest at 4,365 mm. The Creta is the second longest at 4,330 mm. The Taigun and the Kushaq measure at 4,221 mm and 4,225 mm respectively.
At 1,800 mm the Kia Seltos is also the widest SUV amongst the 4. The Creta is the second widest at 1,790 mm followed by 1,760 mm width of both Taigun and Kushaq.
On the wheelbase front, the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta share a common platform and thus both offer 2,610 mm of wheelbase. On the other hand, the Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun, both offer 2,651 mm of wheelbase as they too share the platform.
When it comes to height, here too, Kia Seltos is the tallest vehicle amongst the 4. It measures 1,645 mm, whereas the Creta measures 1,635 mm, the Taigun and Kushaq measure 1,612 mm.
Talking about the ground clearance, the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta offer an unladen ground clearance of 190 mm, whereas the Kushaq and Taigun come with an unladen ground clearance of 188 mm.
Boot space is another important criteria for buyers. In this aspect, the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta come with 433 litres of boot space, whereas the Kushaq and Taigun offer 385 litres of boot space.

As Hyundai Creta N-Line is the performance version of the regular Creta, it comes with a number of cosmetic changes that include larger 18 inch alloys with red colour brake callipers, red inserts on front and rear bumpers, side sill with red inserts, dual exhaust tips, sporty and aerodynamic rear spoiler, gloss black front grille and ORVMs, etc.
Along with the exclusive matte graphite colour, the Seltos X-Line also comes with a number of exterior cosmetic updates like matte graphite colour grille with knurled glossy black surround, gloss black front and rear skid plates, gloss black ORVMs, outside door handles in matte graphite colour, etc.
Apart from the regular 1.5 TSI Kushaq, Skoda also offers Kushaq Elegance Edition. The Kushaq Elegance Edition comes in deep black colour and gets some exterior updates like chrome garnish on front grille, new design dual tone alloys, chrome garnish on side claddings, puddle lamps, etc.
Volkswagen Taigun GT comes in two colour shades i.e. carbon steel grey with matte finish and deep black pearl with gloss finish. Moreover, it comes with a few changes compared to the regular 1.5 TSI Taigun. These include red colour brake callipers, chrome garnish on front and rear bumper, front and rear skid plates, front & rear bumpers with red inserts, and side claddings with red inserts.
On the features front, the Hyundai Creta N-Line continues to offer all the features that the top end regular Creta offers. Here are some of the best and first in segment features of Creta N-Line.

The Kia Seltos X-Line continues to offer all the features that the top end variant of regular GT-Line Seltos offers. Additionally, it also gets a segment first feature i.e. HUD (Heads Up Display). Moreover, it too shares all the above mentioned Creta N-Line features.
Although not as feature loaded as the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta, the Skoda Kushaq too comes with a few first and best in segment features. These include:
The VW Taigun GT too offers all the features that the Skoda Kushaq gets. Moreover, both - VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq are Global NCAP 5 star rated cars and come with a number of active safety features like tire pressure deflation warning, electronic differential lock, hydraulic brake boosters, static cornering light, brake disc wiping, etc.
Kia Seltos X-Line and Hyundai Creta N-Line share the same 1.5 litre 4 cylinder turbocharged gasoline direct injection (T-GDi) petrol engine that generates 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque. However, with this engine, the Creta N-Line comes with the 6 speed manual gearbox as well as the 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Whereas, with this engine, the Seltos X-Line only offers the 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
Moreover, unlike Creta N-Line, the Seltos X-Line is also available with the 1.5 litre CRDi VGT diesel engine. It produces 116 PS of power, 250 Nm of torque and comes mated to only a 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The Volkswagen Taigun GT and Skoda Kushaq, both offer the 1.5 litre 4 cylinder TSI EVO petrol engine with ACT (Active Cylinder Tech). The engine produces 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque, and comes mated to either a 6 speed manual gearbox or a 7 speed DSG automatic transmission.
When it comes to 0 to 100 km/h run, the Seltos X-Line and Creta N-Line can achieve it in just 8.9 seconds. Whereas the VW Taigun GT and Skoda Kushaq can complete it in around 10 seconds.
Hyundai Creta N-Line is available in 2 variants i.e. N8 and N10, and the available colour options are single tone Abyss Black, single tone Atlas White, single tone Titan Grey in Matte finish, dual tone Thunder Blue with Abyss Black roof, dual tone Shadow Grey with Abyss Black roof, and dual tone Atlas White with Abyss Black roof.
The Kia Seltos X-Line is only available in 1 colour option i.e. Exclusive Matte Graphite and comes in 2 variants i.e. X-Line (S) and X-Line.
On the other hand, the Skoda Kushaq offers 5 colour options i.e. Candy White, Brilliant Silver, Carbon Steel, Honey Orange and Tornado Red. Also, Skoda offers Kushaq Elegance Edition with some cosmetic changes and a special deep black colour.
The Volkswagen Taigun GT comes in 2 colour options i.e. Carbon Steel Grey Matte and Deep Black Pearl, and it is available in just 1 variant.
When it comes to pricing, the Kia Seltos X-Line starts at Rs 19.59 Lakh (ex-showroom) and goes till Rs 20.29 Lakh (ex-showroom). The Hyundai Creta N-Line starts at Rs 16.82 Lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 20.44 Lakh (ex-showroom).
The Skoda Kushaq with the 1.5 litre TSI engine is priced between Rs 11.89 Lakh and Rs 19.89 Lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the prices of the Volkswagen Taigun GT with 1.5 litre TSI engine ranges between Rs 18.37 Lakh to Rs 19.99 Lakh (ex-showroom).
So, between the Hyundai Creta N-Line, Kia Seltos X-Line, VW Taigun GT and Skoda Kushaq, which one should you go for? Well, all the 4 SUVs come with powerful engine and gearbox combinations. However, each one of the 4 have some or the other USP. If you are confused between the Hyundai Creta N-Line and Kia Seltos X-Line, it's simple. If you want a manual gearbox, then you only have the Creta N-Line. If you prefer diesel, the Seltos X-Line is your only option. Moreover, if you care a lot about safety and are looking for an SUV with good NCAP rating, then the Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun GT with the 1.5 TSI engine can be the perfect choice. You also have the option to choose either manual or automatic gearbox in both the SUVs.
