Weeks after the launch of the Tata Punch Facelift, the brand has confirmed the introduction of its electric version’s facelift, releasing a teaser image. The complete unveiling of Punch.ev is scheduled for the coming 20th of February, 2026. The Punch.ev, following its entrance in 2024, is all set to receive the first major update in a tenure of two years. Tata Motors has rolled out almost 50,000 units of Punch.ev, which translates to an individual contribution of between 34% and 35% in the overall EV sales of the brand to date.
These figures are further exemplified in the several monthly sales reports with the model’s top position amongst all other electric private mobility. However, acknowledging the declining graph of this sustainable micro-SUV, primarily due to ageing looks compared to the surging competition, Tata.ev has taken the decision of upgrading one of their bestsellers with not just cosmetics, but much more in terms of a value-for-money proposition.

Tata has refined the Punch.ev’s front-end styling, moving toward a cleaner yet more muscular aesthetic that will likely raise some debate among enthusiasts. The most noticeable change is the removal of the black plastic trim and upper air vents; they have been replaced by a smooth body-coloured panel, which creates a more seamless look, though the charging port remains integrated behind the centrally aligned 2D illuminated logo. The lighting setup has also been revised, with the headlamp housings and triangular side vents now sitting deeper within the bodywork.
In addition, the central air dam has been slimmed down, and the faux skid plate features a completely fresh design, portraying a more sophisticated and bolder presence on the road. A noticeable difference from the original design is visible in the LED daytime running lights (DRL). Meanwhile, the previous version was defined by a full-width lightbar connecting the bonnet line; the facelift replaces this with a subtle, slim black strip. The vehicle's styling remains largely untouched, as the updated Punch.ev carries over the same wheel design from the outgoing model.

Although the rear styling has not been revealed yet, it is anticipated to align with its internal combustion counterparts by incorporating a connected taillight. Nevertheless, the connected units could possibly vary in order to create a differentiating factor. This continues with the redesigned rear bumper (diffuser) to complete the new profile. The released teaser image also indicates two new exterior paint shades, potentially a yellow as shown and a light sky blue complementing the eveish palette.

The Punch.ev has continuously outpaced its ICE counterpart, and the streak continues despite the introduction of the facelifted internal combustion Punch. The update has severely elevated the Punch’s proposition altogether. Barring that, the Punch.ev still has leverage when it comes to the consumer’s tech. Having said that, there will be minor changes to the cabin from the ongoing experience, retaining most of the aspects.

The theme is anticipated to be lighter in conjunction with the premium leatherette upholstery, hoisting an addition of a larger 12.3-inch connected car suite enabled infotainment display, a dashcam enhancing safety parameters, and, considering the availability of a radar showcased in the updated Punch, possibly some features of ADAS as well. Additionally, features such as a blind-way monitor, a 360-degree camera, front ventilated seats, multi-drive modes, a two-spoke illuminated corporate steering console, auto-dimming IRVM, and a voice-controlled single-pane sunroof are some of the highlights which will remain as earlier, albeit the electronic adjustment for the frontal seats is most unlikely considering the prices to be in check.

As of now, two different battery packs, a mid-range 25.0 kWh and a longer-range 35.0 kWh, power the 60 and 90 kW electric motors, respectively, which sustains a maximum range figure of up to 421 km (IDC). The performance numbers of the 25.0 kWh battery pack go to 80.5 bhp and 114 Nm. Whereas, for the 35.0 kWh powertrain, it is around 120.7 bhp and 190 Nm. Similarly, the 0-100 km/h acceleration of 25.0 kWh is 13.5 sec, which reduces to 9.5 sec for the bigger 35.0 kWh battery. In comparison to the 1.2L 3-cylinder i-turbo engine of the internal combustion sibling, the 35.0 kWh powerplant is ahead by 2 seconds.
Battery Pack | Old IDC Claimed Range | New MIDC Claimed Range (Current) | Real-World Range (Est.) |
25 kWh (Medium Range) | 315 km | 265 km | 190–210 km |
35 kWh (Long Range) | 421 km | 365 km | 270–290 km |

Tata Punch.ev has already been a worthy contender in the sub-4-metre electric SUV space, collectively carrying loaded-to-the-brim new-age technology, class-leading safety with a 5-star NCAP (BNCAP/GNCAP) rating, and the OEM’s long-existing reliability. Although, the facelift is eyeing significant improvements by means of attractive ailments such as battery as a service cost (BAAS), which is also rumoured to be on the list this time. Speaking of which, a large concentration of buyers is on the target. The revised prices may notice an increase varying between fifteen and thirty thousand rupees, taking the top-end variant into account.
