2023 India-bound Hyundai Creta SUV ASEAN NCAP Testing

Earlier this year, Hyundai introduced the Stargazer MPV and the updated Creta to the Indonesian market. The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries recently evaluated both models (ASEAN NCAP). Hyundai's SUV and MPV models, the Creta and Stargazer, were the first to undergo ASEAN NCAP testing under the new ASEAN NCAP 2021–2025 assessment protocol.
While the Stargazer received a 4-star rating in the most recent ASEAN NCAP evaluation methodology, the new Hyundai Creta received a 5-star rating in crash tests. The new Hyundai Creta has received 34.72 points for adult protection, 15.56 points for child occupant protection, 14.08 points for safety aid, and 11.42 points for motorcycle safety. As a reminder, the model now being sold in our market received three stars from Global NCAP.
The Creta used for the ASEAN NCAP test has two airbags, although higher-end versions of the SUV have six airbags as well. An ISOFIX installation for child seats, electronic stability control (ESC), anti-lock braking system (ABS), seatbelt reminder system, and pedestrian protection technology are all included with the SUV.
Additionally, the new Creta receives ADAS technology with attributes including automatic high beams and blind spot detection, forward collision warning, lane maintenance assist, and lane departure warning. Additionally, the SUV has rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assistance for motorcycles and child presence detection as optional fitments.
In the Creta SUV, Hyundai is offering RCCA, a technological fitting for motorcycle safety and child presence detection. According to Hyundai, RCCA is an additional safety feature because it has the ability to identify the presence of an oncoming vehicle when reversing slowly to the left or right. The system will initially alert the driver with a warning, but if the chance of an accident rises, it will immediately assist with braking.
