The latest 2026 Tata Tiago EV introduces several new features. All variants now come with six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, a redesigned cabin, fresh color options, and a new instrument cluster. Despite these additions, Tata has managed to reduce the price, making the Tiago EV more accessible to buyers considering an electric vehicle.

The Tiago EV range now spans from Rs. 6.99 lakh to Rs. 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. For those seeking a lower upfront cost, Tata offers a battery-as-a-service option. This plan starts at Rs. 4.69 lakh, with a usage charge of Rs. 2.60 per kilometer, appealing to high-mileage users who want to minimize initial expenses.

Comparison with Rivals and Feature Analysis

The MG Comet EV stands as the Tiago EV's closest competitor, priced between Rs. 7.62 lakh and Rs. 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. While both vehicles target similar buyers, the Tiago EV offers a larger battery pack, a practical boot, and two rear doors, making it more versatile for daily use. The Comet EV is designed primarily for city driving, whereas the Tiago EV serves as a more well-rounded option.

Tata has kept the Tiago EV's mechanics unchanged from the previous model. The motor and battery pack options remain the same, which has helped keep costs down. Although the platform can support a larger battery, Tata chose not to increase capacity to avoid raising the price. Some features found on the petrol and CNG Tiago, such as larger alloy wheels and a wireless charger, are not available on the EV to maintain affordability.

Best Value Variant and Alternatives

Within the Tiago EV lineup, the Pure Plus variant with the 24 kWh battery pack stands out. It includes an eight-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rearview camera, power-adjustable ORVMs, USB Type-C charging ports, four speakers, and a manual IRVM. This variant balances essential features with a competitive price.

Buyers considering a higher budget may look at the Tata Punch EV. The Punch EV, recently updated with a 30 kWh battery pack and a larger cabin, starts at Rs. 9.69 lakh, ex-showroom. Its top variants overlap with the Tiago EV's upper trims, offering a bigger battery and more features, but targeting a different buyer profile.

The 2026 Tiago EV focuses on being the most accessible and practical entry point into electric vehicle ownership. With its new features and lower prices, it strengthens its position in the budget EV market. Tata may also update the Tigor EV in the coming months, which could further expand its affordable EV lineup.
