Maruti Brezza Facelift Launches with New CNG Tank, Engine Options, and Five-Star BNCAP Rating

Maruti has launched the facelifted Brezza, introducing an underbody CNG tank that allows the SUV to retain its full 328-litre boot space. The new CNG tank technology first appeared in the Victoris SUV in 2025. Maruti now offers the updated Brezza with two fresh styling packs, named Metroscopa and Terrascape, which add new design elements to both the interior and exterior.

Key Updates and Features

The facelifted Brezza comes with several single-tone and dual-tone colour options, including new shades introduced for the first time. The feature list has been expanded to include more comfort and entertainment amenities, enhancing the overall experience for occupants.

One major mechanical update is the addition of Maruti's 1.0-litre Boosterjet three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine delivers 109bhp and 170Nm of torque. The only transmission available at launch is a new six-speed manual gearbox, making its debut with this Brezza update. In the Fronx model, the same engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, which could become available for the Brezza in future updates.

This new engine option is expected to provide a lower entry price for the Brezza. The second engine on offer is Maruti's established 1.5-litre unit, which produces 100bhp and 139Nm of torque. Buyers can choose this engine with either the new six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. For the CNG variant, this 1.5-litre engine delivers 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque.

Safety and Launch Details

Maruti announced that the updated Brezza has achieved a five-star BNCAP crash test rating for the petrol-powered variant. The company expects to include CNG safety ratings at a later date. The facelift marks a mid-cycle update for Maruti's sub-compact boxy SUV, bringing new features, engine choices, and minor design changes. The launch of the facelifted Brezza takes place today, expanding options for buyers in the segment.
