KTM has launched the 2024 250 Duke in India at ₹2.41 lakh (ex-showroom), introducing several functional and visual upgrades to its quarter-litre naked streetfighter. The new iteration is priced slightly higher than its predecessor, but it comes loaded with new features to justify the hike.
In recent years, KTM has gained significant attention and market share in India’s premium motorcycle segment. The brand’s local manufacturing and the growing demand for premium motorcycles, particularly among younger riders, have contributed to this success. With the 2024 KTM 250 Duke, the Austrian manufacturer hopes to continue this upward trajectory.
Key Updates of the 2024 KTM 250 Duke
Design and Colours
The 2024 KTM 250 Duke features an updated front profile with boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), inspired by the KTM 390 Duke. Apart from the front fascia, the rest of the bike retains its original look. The 2024 model comes in three distinct colours: Atlantic Blue, Electronic Orange, and Ceramic White, offering riders a variety of choices.
Powertrain
The 2024 KTM 250 Duke retains the same 248cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the previous model. This engine generates 30 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 25 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. The power is delivered through a six-speed gearbox, which includes a bi-directional quick-shifter and an assist and slipper clutch, ensuring smooth and efficient gear transitions.
New Colour TFT Display
A major highlight of the 2024 250 Duke is the inclusion of a 5.0-inch full-colour TFT display, which was previously seen in the KTM 390 Duke. This updated instrument cluster includes advanced features such as smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and headset pairing via the KTM Connect app. The new graphics add a modern touch to the overall dashboard experience.
Updated Switchgear
The switchgear on the 2024 KTM 250 Duke has also been upgraded. The new four-way menu switch layout provides intuitive access to the various functions displayed on the TFT screen. This switchgear, like many components, has been borrowed from the KTM 390 Duke, giving the 250 Duke an enhanced user interface.
Ride Modes
For the first time, the KTM 250 Duke offers two distinct ride modes: Street and Track. Riders can easily switch between these modes through the TFT screen. In Track mode, the screen transforms into a race-oriented display, featuring an enlarged rev counter, lap timer, and rider aid settings for a more performance-focused riding experience.
