Hero MotoCorp announces Rs 3,200 Crore investment in Andhra Pradesh
Hero MotoCorp plans a major investment in Andhra Pradesh aimed at expanding production, supporting EV development, and driving regional economic growth.

Hero MotoCorp has unveiled an expansive investment roadmap of over Rs 3,200 crore in Andhra Pradesh, anchored by its new Global Parts Centre in Tirupati. The announcement, made at a foundation stone ceremony attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, underscores the company’s long-term commitment to manufacturing, electric mobility, and supply-chain capability in the southern state of India.
With this phase of investment, Hero MotoCorp is positioning Tirupati as a future-ready hub for both conventional two-wheelers and its VIDA-branded electric scooters, while using the new facility as a strategic backbone for domestic and export parts operations. Planned over the next few years, the Rs 3,200+ crore outlay reinforces confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s infrastructure, policy environment, and growth agenda.
Future-Ready Global Parts Centre in Tirupati
At the heart of the plan is Hero MotoCorp’s second Global Parts Centre (GPC 2.0) in Tirupati, representing a direct investment of over Rs 750 crore. The large-format facility will act as a strategic nerve centre for spare parts and CKD kits, serving both domestic markets and international operations while strengthening the company’s global supply chain backbone.
Located in the Tirupati region, the new GPC is designed to support next-generation logistics with higher storage capacity and greater operational efficiency compared to the existing parts hub at Neemrana in Rajasthan. By clustering parts, logistics, and manufacturing in Andhra Pradesh, Hero MotoCorp is clearly betting on scale, speed, and proximity to key ports for export-focused growth.
Expanding EV Manufacturing and Capacity in Andhra Pradesh
Tirupati is already central to Hero MotoCorp’s electric story, with the company stating that its entire electric vehicle portfolio is designed, engineered, and manufactured at the plant. With the latest investment, annual production capacity at the Tirupati facility is expected to ramp up aggressively to between 1.2 and 1.5 million units, covering both ICE two-wheelers and VIDA-branded EVs.
This scale-up positions Tirupati as one of India’s key hubs for future-ready green mobility, aligned with both state and national EV ambitions. For Hero MotoCorp, the site effectively becomes a dual-role asset that supports mainstream motorcycle and scooter demand while acting as a flagship base for its electric transition and export-focused products.
Visionary Leadership

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu hailed Hero MotoCorp as a long-standing partner in Andhra Pradesh’s growth journey, calling the new Global Parts Centre a strong endorsement of the state’s infrastructure, policy stability, and “Speed of Doing Business.” He emphasized that the project will help establish Rayalaseema as a major hub for manufacturing, mobility, and logistics in India.
Hero MotoCorp Executive Chairman Dr. Pawan Munjal framed the investment as a milestone that blends business expansion with nation-building, reiterating the company’s commitment to “Made in India, for India and the world.” The ceremony also carried emotional significance, coinciding with the 103rd birth anniversary of founder Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, with the new Centre presented as a tribute to his vision of building future-oriented, enduring institutions.
Customer-Oriented Initiatives
The expansion is expected to create around 4,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in and around Tirupati, giving a strong push to the Rayalaseema industrial ecosystem. This aligns closely with the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s SwarnAndhra vision and the national Viksit Bharat 2047 agenda, where manufacturing-led growth and quality jobs are core pillars.
Beyond employment, Hero MotoCorp is pairing its capex with social-impact programs.
The “Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal Heroes of Tomorrow Scholarship” will support meritorious engineering students at state IIITs across 28 districts through full tuition coverage, helping build a stronger local talent pipeline for advanced manufacturing and technology roles.
Reinforcing its focus on safer and cleaner mobility, the company will also deploy VIDA electric scooters for women police personnel in the region, coupled with specialized road safety and riding training.
