The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N will provide a potent new powerplant with up to 650 horsepower for the revamped Kia EV6 GT. For an exciting driving experience, the EV6 GT will also include sophisticated tech upgrades, a bigger battery pack, and stylistic changes in addition to the performance boost.
Significant Power Upgrade
The Kia EV6 GT will adopt a dual-motor, four-wheel-drive powertrain, similar to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Key specifications include:
- Standard Output: 610hp and 740Nm.
- GT Drive Mode: Boosts performance to 650hp and 770Nm.
- Acceleration: Expected to improve upon the outgoing model’s 0-100 kph time of 3.5 seconds, competing closely with the Ioniq 5 N’s 3.4 seconds.
This performance upgrade makes the EV6 GT one of the most powerful electric vehicles in its segment.
Larger Battery Pack
The present 77kWh battery pack will be replaced with an 84kWh one for the Kia EV6 GT as part of the power improvement. The vehicle's range, which was previously assessed at 423 kilometers per charge according to official regulations, should be somewhat increased as a result.
Advanced Transmission Tech
The updated EV6 GT will feature a simulated automatic gearbox, enhancing its performance-car appeal. This system mimics the gear shifts and power delivery of a combustion engine, offering:
- Paddle shifters for manual control.
- Adjustable torque limits and artificial engine sound effects.
- An option to disable the feature for a more traditional EV experience.
Exterior and Interior Enhancements
While official images are yet to be released, the updated Kia EV6 GT is expected to adopt styling tweaks inspired by newer models like the EV3, EV5, and EV9. Likely updates include:
- Revised exterior design for a sportier look.
- New three-spoke steering wheel.
- Upgraded cabin materials and technology.
India Launch Prospects
In India, Kia presently offers the pre-facelift EV6 under the GT Line name. Although the facelifted EV6 is anticipated to make its debut in India the following year, there are currently no official plans to introduce the high-performance GT model.
