Variant Restructuring and Price Adjustments
One of the most notable changes in the 2026 Isuzu V-Cross is the restructuring of its variant lineup. The company has discontinued the entry-level Z 4x2 AT variant, effectively removing the two-wheel-drive automatic option from the range. This move streamlines the offerings and positions the V-Cross as a more premium, off-road-focused vehicle.
In addition to the variant changes, Isuzu has implemented price increases across the remaining V-Cross models. The Z 4x4 MT variant now costs Rs. 52,000 more than before, the Z Prestige 4x4 MT sees a price hike of Rs. 94,000, and the Z Prestige 4x4 AT is priced Rs. 63,000 higher. With the discontinuation of the 4x2 variant, all 2026 V-Cross models now come equipped with a 4x4 system as standard, enhancing the vehicle's off-road capability and appeal to adventure-oriented buyers.
Design and Feature Enhancements
The 2026 Isuzu V-Cross receives several exterior updates aimed at modernizing its appearance and improving functionality. The new model features dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, which add a sporty and premium touch to the vehicle's stance. Additional design changes include body-colored surrounds for the fog lights and front skid plate, black accents for the grille, and newly integrated LED turn indicators on the outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs).
Inside the cabin, Isuzu has upgraded the V-Cross with a range of new features to enhance comfort and connectivity. The most prominent addition is a floating 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration. Other notable features include a 360-degree camera system for improved visibility and safety, as well as leatherette inserts on the dashboard and door trims, contributing to a more premium interior ambiance.
Powertrain and Mechanical Details
The updated V-Cross continues to be powered by Isuzu's 1.9-litre diesel engine, which remains unchanged in terms of output. This engine delivers 161 bhp and 360 Nm of torque and is available with both a six-speed manual transmission and a torque converter automatic gearbox. The standardization of the 4x4 drivetrain across all variants further reinforces the V-Cross's positioning as a robust and versatile pickup suitable for a variety of terrains and driving conditions.
Market Position and Competition
With its latest updates, the 2026 Isuzu V-Cross aims to strengthen its position in the Indian lifestyle pickup segment. The model's combination of enhanced features, refreshed styling, and standard 4x4 capability is designed to appeal to customers seeking a rugged yet comfortable vehicle for both urban and off-road use. The V-Cross continues to compete with models like the Toyota Hilux, offering a competitive alternative in terms of pricing and equipment.
