Nissan Gravite MPV Spied Testing In India Ahead Of 2026 Launch

Nissan is ready to unwrap its upcoming Gravite compact MPV, which has been spotted testing once again on Indian roads. The test mule now reveals fresh details about the seven-seater’s design and positioning ahead of its early‑2026 market introduction. The car was covered in camouflage but clearly production‑ready. The latest test mule underscores Nissan India’s renewed focus on high‑volume, family‑oriented models engineered specifically for local needs.

The Gravite will be Nissan’s third product in India after the Magnite and X‑Trail and is set to spearhead the brand’s broader product offensive that also includes the Tekton midsize SUV and a larger three‑row C‑SUV by 2027. Sharing its CMF‑A+ alliance platform with the Renault Triber but wearing distinct Nissan styling, the MPV aims to blend affordability, practicality, and premium‑leaning features in the sub‑4‑meter segment.

Exterior Updates

The recent spy shots and teaser visuals indicate that the Gravite will retain the Triber’s upright, space‑efficient silhouette while adopting a bolder Nissan family face. The front end is expected to feature a multi‑slat grille with Nissan’s V‑motion interpretation, sleek headlamps with integrated DRLs, chrome garnishes around the fog‑lamp housings, and a more sculpted bumper.

While looking at the test mule, it shows roof rails, pronounced wheel arches, and body cladding, with add‑on accessories such as a side step likely to be offered for higher trims. At the rear, C‑shaped tail lamps, a neatly contoured tailgate, a rear wiper, and prominent Gravite badging.

Under the hood, the Gravite is based on the CMF‑A+ architecture already proven in India with the Triber, Kiger, and Magnite, which should aid localization, durability, and cost control. Mechanically, it is expected to borrow the 1.0‑liter three‑cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing about 72 HP of power and 96 Nm of torque, paired with a 5‑speed manual and 5‑speed AMT.

Although interiors have not been fully revealed, feature expectations are closely aligned with the Triber, with Nissan‑specific trim, color, and UX touches. Equipment is likely to include an eight‑inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a seven‑inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents for enhanced occupant comfort.

For safety, the car offers six airbags expected as standard along with a multi‑view camera, rear parking sensors, and ABS with ESC, aligning with tightening Indian norms and buyer expectations.

Launch Timeline & Market Outlook

Nissan has confirmed that the Gravite will be officially unveiled in January 2026, with showroom arrivals and customer deliveries targeted around March 2026. Positioned below the Magnite in Nissan’s domestic portfolio, the MPV is expected to be priced from around Rs 6 lakh ex‑showroom, with higher trims stretching towards Rs 9 lakh depending on transmission and feature combinations.

Conclusion

The Gravite thus emerges as a strategically timed, high‑value seven‑seater that neatly aligns with Nissan’s broader India comeback narrative, combining alliance‑proven underpinnings with brand‑distinct styling and family‑focused versatility.
