2026 Toyota Yaris cross unveiled with updated design and new GR Sport Trim
Toyota's compact Yaris Cross gets a sharper 2026 facelift inspired by the RAV4, with a body-colored honeycomb grille, redesigned LEDs, new colors like Precious Bronze, and a bold GR Sport variant with 18-inch alloys.

Toyota has unveiled the 2026 Yaris Cross for Europe, introducing design updates and a new GR Sport variant. The Yaris Cross remains Toyota’s bestselling model in Europe, with sales reaching 200,000 units in 2025. The latest update builds on changes made in 2024, aiming to maintain the model’s strong market position.
Key Highlights
- 2026 Toyota Yaris Cross debuts in Europe with refreshed design and new GR Sport trim
- Four trims available including Mid, Mid Plus, High, and GR Sport with new color options
- Hybrid 115 and Hybrid 130 powertrains continue with up to 130 hp and AWD option
Key Exterior and Interior Updates
The 2026 Yaris Cross is available in four trims: Mid, Mid+, High, and GR Sport. The exterior features a refreshed front fascia with a new honeycomb-patterned grille finished in body color. Rugged SUV elements include a blacked-out bumper, flared wheel arches, and thick body cladding. Updated LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights are now standard. Higher trims receive new alloy wheels, with 17-inch wheels on the Mid+ and 18-inch wheels on the High trim.
Two new color options have been added: Precious Bronze and Celestite Grey. Celestite Grey replaces the previous Shimmering Silver. The Precious Bronze option features a contrasting black roof and pillars. Inside, a platinum-colored trim now appears on the dashboard and door panels, enhancing the cabin’s premium feel.
The Mid+ trim gains sportier front seats with improved comfort and lateral support, a feature previously exclusive to the High trim. These seats also have a platinum color insert and three-tone stitching.
The High trim introduces a partial-leather interior using SakuraTouch synthetic leather. This material combines waste cork, plant-based PVC, and recycled PET, reducing CO2 emissions by about 95% compared to genuine leather. Ambient lighting and a wireless charger are now standard from the Mid+ trim upwards. The high trim also gets a powered tailgate. All variants now feature automatically retracting outside mirrors.
GR Sport Trim and Powertrain Options

The GR Sport trim receives unique exterior and interior enhancements. It features a distinctive front bumper with aerodynamic side elements, emphasizing the SUV’s wide stance. The GR Sport also includes exclusive 18-inch machined alloy wheels. Inside, the trim offers suede sports seats with grey upholstery and red stitching, along with ‘GR’ badging on the steering wheel and headrests. Gunmetal silver trim inserts on the instrument panel and doors are exclusive to this variant. The GR Sport is available only with front-wheel drive and includes features like a wireless charger, ambient lighting, and a blind spot monitor.
The 2026 Yaris Cross continues with its existing powertrains. The Hybrid 115, producing 116 HP and 141 Nm of torque, is available only in the base Mid trim with front-wheel drive. Higher trims use the Hybrid 130, introduced in 2024, delivering 130 HP and 185 Nm of torque. The Hybrid 130 can be paired with either front-wheel drive or intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD-i).
