Exterior and Design Highlights

Skoda Kodiaq RS Design

The Skoda Kodiaq RS builds on the standard Kodiaq's large and sophisticated design. The RS variant introduces sharper bumpers and a blacked-out grille for a more aggressive appearance. The RS badge on the front distinguishes this model from the regular Kodiaq.

The SUV features 20-inch alloy wheels, enhancing its sporty profile. Reduced cladding and blacked-out window lines and ORVMs further contribute to its sleeker look. The rear maintains connected LED tail lights, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a sharkfin antenna.

A revised rear bumper with a mesh insert and dual exhaust tips adds to the sporty styling. The Kodiaq RS is available in four exterior colors: Moon White, Magic Black, Velvet Red, and Steel Grey.

Interior Features and Comfort

The interior of the Kodiaq RS retains the basic layout of the standard model but adopts a sportier black theme with red inserts. The cabin uses premium materials and features functional rotary dials below the central AC vents for climate and media controls.

Exclusive to the RS are bucket-style sport seats with RS branding. These seats are powered, have memory settings, and offer ventilation, heating, and massaging functions. The Kodiaq RS remains a three-row, seven-seater SUV, with the third row best suited for children or pets. Practicality is enhanced by multiple cupholders, a removable tray for the second row, dual gloveboxes, and large door pockets with reusable dustbins.

Technology and Safety Equipment

The Kodiaq RS includes most features from the standard Kodiaq. Key features are keyless entry, push-button start/stop, three-zone automatic climate control, and electric auto-folding ORVMs. The infotainment package consists of a 12.9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Additional features include ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, and a 13-speaker Canton sound system with 725W output.

Safety features include nine airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, and a 360-degree camera with front and rear parking sensors. The Kodiaq RS is also equipped with Level-2 autonomous driving assistance systems (ADAS), which must be manually deactivated each time the car is started.

Engine and Performance

The Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2-liter turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine. Unlike the Octavia RS, this engine has increased torque to handle the SUV’s extra weight. The Kodiaq RS uses an all-wheel-drive system. It also features Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), allowing drivers to adjust suspension settings for different ride qualities.

This system provides a noticeable difference in driving experience. The Kodiaq RS does not have a direct competitor in India. The Volkswagen Tayron R-Line is its closest rival. With only 50 units imported, the Kodiaq RS is a unique offering in the Indian SUV market.

CarBike 360 Says

With its limited availability and performance-driven appeal, the Skoda Kodiaq RS stands out as a niche yet exciting offering in the premium SUV space. Combining practicality with sporty dynamics, it caters to enthusiasts seeking exclusivity and power. However, with only 50 units on offer, interested buyers will need to act quickly to secure this high-performance SUV.
