Skoda Peaq unveiled as flagship electric SUV with 647 km range
Skoda introduces its flagship Peaq electric SUV, offering an impressive 647 km range, futuristic design, and cutting-edge technology, marking a major step in its EV expansion strategy.
Skoda has introduced the Peaq as its flagship electric SUV, expanding its global electric vehicle lineup. The Peaq leads Skoda’s pure-electric range, which includes the Epiq, Elroq, and Enyaq. It is positioned to compete with full-size electric SUVs such as the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9, and Volvo EX90. Skoda is also considering the Peaq for the Indian market, where it could become the brand’s premier electric model.
Key Highlights
- Skoda Peaq is the new flagship electric SUV in the global lineup.
- Three variants offered with up to 647 km claimed range and 299 HP output.
- Features a modern solid design, a 13.6-inch touchscreen, and 935 liters of boot space.
- Safety includes 10 airbags, ADAS, 360-degree camera, and auto park assist.
- India's launch is under evaluation as a premium CBU import.
Design and Features
The Skoda Peaq is the second Skoda EV to adopt the Modern Solid design language, following the Epiq revealed in May 2026. The SUV features a gloss-black ‘Tech Deck’ face with vertical slats and LED backlighting, T-shaped Matrix LED headlights, and eyebrow-shaped daytime running lights. The grille is blanked off, and the bumper includes functional air vents for cooling.
The side profile displays 19- to 21-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels and powered flush-type door handles. The design remains simple, with a flat beltline and minimal creases. A gloss black strip accents the wheel arches and lower body. At the rear, slim T-shaped LED taillights echo the headlight design, and a roof-mounted spoiler aids aerodynamics.
Refreshed Interiors
The interior features a dual-tone dashboard, a 13.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital driver’s display, and a heated two-spoke steering wheel. Physical buttons remain for key functions, with climate controls split into two sections. Amenities include a 16-speaker Sonos sound system, dual wireless phone chargers, a panoramic glass roof, and USB charging ports for all three rows. The Peaq supports bidirectional charging and is the first Skoda car to offer a digital key feature. An augmented reality head-up display is available as an option.
Safety, Comfort, and Market Plans
Safety features include 10 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), and auto park assist. The Peaq is the first Skoda to integrate washers with wipers. An optional Relax Package adds AGR-certified seats with massage function, power-adjustable leg rests, front pillows, a foldable table, and a wellness app with six modes.
Skoda is actively assessing the Peaq for the Indian market. Ashish Gupta, brand director for Skoda Auto India, stated that the company aims to introduce a premium electric SUV, not a basic model at a high price. While no launch date is confirmed, the Peaq could arrive in India as a completely built unit (CBU) import. In the UK, the Peaq starts at 51,980 pounds, about Rs 64.95 lakh before taxes and duties. If launched in India, it would compete with the Kia EV9, currently priced at Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom).
Variants and Performance
The Skoda Peaq will be available in three variants: 60, 90, and 90x. The 60 variant features a 63 kWh battery, offering a claimed range of up to 459 km. It uses a single rear-wheel-drive (RWD) electric motor that produces 204 HP. The 90 variant is equipped with a larger 91 kWh battery, delivering a claimed range of up to 647 km and a more powerful single-motor RWD setup with 286 HP.
The top-tier 90x variant combines the 91 kWh battery with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, producing 299 HP and providing a claimed range of up to 613 km. Performance figures improve across the range. The 90X accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 6.7 seconds. The 90 completes the sprint in 7.1 seconds, while the 60 achieves it in 8.6 seconds.
Charging times are competitive: the 91 kWh battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes with a 199 kW DC fast charger. The 63 kWh battery takes 27 minutes for the same charge using a 160 kW DC charger.
CarBike 360 Says
The Skoda Peaq signals a bold leap into the future of electric mobility, combining long-range capability with premium design and advanced technology. As Skoda strengthens its EV portfolio, the Peaq stands out as a flagship model aimed at global markets, offering a compelling mix of performance, practicality, and innovation for modern SUV buyers.
