BYD India revises EV prices, adds new eMAX 7 Comfort variant
BYD India has revised its electric vehicle pricing while expanding its lineup with the new eMAX 7 Comfort variant, aimed at offering better affordability and enhanced value for Indian EV buyers.
BYD India has announced a price revision across select electric passenger vehicle variants, effective July 1, 2026, as it steps up investments in advanced technology and nationwide network expansion. The revised ex-showroom prices, ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000, impact popular models such as the BYD ATTO 3, BYD SEALION 7, and BYD SEAL within its growing EV portfolio.
While certain BYD ATTO 3 and BYD eMAX 7 variants continue with existing pricing, the company has introduced an all-new eMAX 7 Comfort variant with a larger 71.8 kWh battery, starting at Rs 27.90 lakh ex-showroom. Positioned as a spacious, family-focused MPV, it expands BYD India’s portfolio for customers seeking premium electric mobility with long-range practicality.
Price Revision Breakdown
The price adjustment is limited to specific variants and is driven by rising input costs, prevailing inflationary pressures, and sustained investments in network growth and advanced technology offerings in India. By keeping some ATTO 3 and eMAX 7 trims unchanged, BYD aims to balance higher costs with value-focused options for buyers entering the premium EV segment.
According to the company, the revision supports its broader strategy of strengthening customer experience and dealer infrastructure while maintaining a competitive position in India’s fast-evolving electric mobility landscape. The move comes at a time when the brand is expanding its footprint beyond metro markets and targeting a wider base of EV adopters.
Focus on Customer's Need
Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business at BYD India, noted that the brand has seen encouraging customer response across its electric passenger portfolio. He emphasized that continued investment in technology, customer experience, and network expansion necessitated price revisions on a few variants, while the company remains committed to delivering advanced, sustainable, and high-performance electric mobility solutions with a strong ownership experience.
By refreshing its line-up and introducing the new eMAX 7 Comfort, BYD India is signalling that it wants to offer more tailored choices for families and fleet buyers who prioritize space, comfort, and efficiency in a premium EV package. The updated range is expected to help the brand consolidate its presence in both private and commercial electric MPV segments.
Technology and India's Expansion Plan
Globally, BYD is recognized as the world’s No. 1 NEV (New Energy Vehicle) manufacturer and has sold more than 16.5 million NEVs, contributing to a reduction of over 144 billion kilograms of CO₂ emissions. Its breakthrough Blade Battery, an advanced LFP battery focused on safety, longevity, and thermal stability, has already earned “Best New EV Battery Technology” recognition.
In India, BYD’s electric passenger portfolio showcases innovations such as the Blade Battery, Cell-to-Body (CTB) architecture, Intelligence Torque Adaptation Control (iTAC), and the recently introduced global DM-i plug-in hybrid technology. The brand operates two factories spanning over 140,000 sq. m, has invested more than 200 million dollars locally, and now reaches 14,000 customers through 48 showrooms across 40 cities, underlining its long-term commitment to the market.
