4 Cars Launching in May 2025, Includes EV & Premium Hatchback

The Indian automobile market is ready to welcome several flagship car launches in May 2025. According to reports, several highly anticipated models will debut in India, including premium hatchbacks, EVs, and MPVs. If you are planning to buy a flagship car in India with the latest features and modern design, get a closer look at these top cars launching this month.

MG Windsor EV Pro

The long-range version of the MG Windsor EV is set to debut in India on May 6, 2025. The Windsor EV was first introduced in September 2024 with a 38 kWh battery pack. The Pro version is expected to feature a 52.9 kWh battery, producing 136 PS of power delivery and 200 Nm of torque, significantly increasing its overall range. The MG EV is also expected to have the addition of Level 2 ADAS, equipping 12 key features like adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and lane departure warning. The EV is also said to have three levels of safety alerts, including audio, visual, and haptic, for maximum occupant protection. With an updated battery pack, the MG Windsor EV Pro will deliver a maximum range of 460 km on a single charge.
Kia Clavis

The premium and more equipped version of Kia Carens, the Kia Clavis MPV, is all set to be unveiled on May 8, 2025. This upcoming Kia car will not replace the existing Carens but will be sold alongside the market. The Clavis is anticipated to have several premium features like ventilated rear seats, an updated dashboard layout, a 360-degree camera, and a new infotainment system. There could be minimal changes in the exterior as the Clavis is likely to borrow significant exterior design elements from the Kia Carens.
Volkswagen Golf GTI

While the pre-bookings have commenced from May 5, 2025, the Volkswagen Golf GTI is also expected to launch this month. It could be priced at Rs 52 lakh and offered as a completely built unit (CBU). Under the hood, it's likely to get a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 265 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic system. This premium hatchback will be available in a front-wheel drive option and capable of accelerating 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h.
Tata Altroz Facelift

With the possible May 22, 2025 launch, the Tata Altroz facelift is another model to arrive this month. It's the first major update to this hatchback since its official launch in 2020. The complete specification details of the Altroz facelifted version will be revealed on May 9, 2025. According to reports, the premium hatchback will likely feature an updated 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a sunroof, and several premium touches. The Altroz will continue to get power from petrol, turbo-petrol, diesel, and CNG powertrain options.
