Audi Nuvolari Plug In Hybrid supercar debuts as limited run flagship model
Audi has launched the Nuvolari, a limited-run plug-in hybrid supercar with 1001 HP and advanced technology. Only 499 units will be produced, each priced at €600,000, featuring F1-inspired design and engineering.

Audi has unveiled the Nuvolari, a new limited-production plug-in hybrid supercar that now stands as the brand’s flagship performance model. The German automaker confirmed that the Nuvolari will not replace the R8. Instead, it will serve as an exclusive halo car that highlights Audi’s latest engineering and performance technologies.
Key Highlights
- Audi Nuvolari is a limited-production plug-in hybrid supercar with 499 units planned
- Features a 1001 HP hybrid powertrain shared with Lamborghini Temerario
- Accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hr in 2.6 seconds with a top speed over 350 km/hr
- Incorporates Formula 1-influenced technology and extensive use of carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer
- Interior design pays homage to Audi’s Auto Union Type C racing car
Production and Pricing Details
Audi will produce only 499 units of the Nuvolari worldwide. Each car will be priced at €600,000, which is approximately Rs. 6.64 crores. This exclusivity positions the Nuvolari at the top of Audi’s performance lineup.
The Nuvolari incorporates several technologies influenced by Audi’s Formula 1 program. These include active aerodynamic elements such as adjustable front air intakes and a movable rear wing. The car also features brake-by-wire hardware and an advanced energy management system to optimize both performance and efficiency.
Design and Styling

The exterior design draws inspiration from the Audi Concept C, which was unveiled in 2025. Notable styling features include slim lighting units, sculpted bodywork, a wide rectangular grille, and distinctive LED lighting signatures.
The Nuvolari also features design cues from the R8, such as prominent side air intakes, muscular rear haunches, and a low-slung supercar profile. Additional highlights include center-lock wheels, a louvered engine cover, a large rear diffuser, and a centrally positioned exhaust outlet.

Audi has made extensive use of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) throughout the Nuvolari’s structure. This material reduces weight and improves rigidity, which benefits handling and overall performance.
Interior and Heritage

The Nuvolari’s interior follows a minimalist, performance-focused layout. The cabin features Alcantara and leather upholstery, with anodized aluminum trim providing contrast. The driver sits behind a digital instrument display and a multifunction steering wheel equipped with various controls and paddle shifters. A large touchscreen is located on the center console, which also houses essential vehicle controls
The raised transmission tunnel divides the cabin into two zones, creating a dual-cockpit effect. Lightweight sports seats are standard. Several design elements inside the cabin pay tribute to Audi’s historic Auto Union Type C racing car from the 1930s.
The Nuvolari is named after Tazio Nuvolari, the legendary Italian racing driver. Ferdinand Porsche once described Nuvolari as “the greatest driver of the past, present, and future.” Audi previously used the Nuvolari name for a concept coupe shown in 2003.
Powertrain and Performance
The Nuvolari uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain shared with the Lamborghini Temerario. The system combines a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that generates 800 HP with three electric motors and a 7.3 kWh battery pack. Two electric motors are mounted on the front axle, while the third is integrated into the gearbox.
The combined system output reaches 1001 HP. Power is delivered to all four wheels through Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system and an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Audi claims the Nuvolari accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hr in 2.6 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/hr in 6.8 seconds. The company states the top speed exceeds 350 km/hr.
