Avore Electric Launches EX Motorcycle at ₹1,24,999 with 260 km Range

Avore Electric has launched its first electric motorcycle, the EX, in Ahmedabad at a starting ex-showroom price of ₹1,24,999. Bookings opened at ₹799, with Gujarat and Maharashtra as the initial launch markets. The company plans to expand to southern states and Delhi within three months.

EX Motorcycle Variants and Specifications

The Avore EX comes in three variants: EX 2S, EX 2, and EX 1. The EX 2S offers an IDC certified range of 260 km, the EX 2 delivers 255 km, and the EX 1 provides 160 km. The EX 2S reaches a top speed of 114 km/h, while the EX 2 and EX 1 reach 100 km/h. All variants use a rare-earth-free permanent magnet synchronous motor, producing between 7.5 kW and 10.5 kW depending on the model. Each variant delivers 250 Nm of peak wheel torque.

Charging is handled by a 1500W onboard charger compatible with standard 5A or 15A household sockets. Charging from 20 to 80 percent takes about two hours, while a full charge requires around four hours. The battery pack is homologated by NATRAX, and its management system is validated by ICAT. Both are covered for five years or 60,000 km. Avore has not yet disclosed a vehicle warranty.

Pricing and Market Position

The EX undercuts competitors such as the Revolt Motors RV400 BRZ and the Oben Rorr EZ by about ₹5,000, as both are priced near ₹1,29,950. Avore targets buyers moving from 125cc to 200cc petrol commuter motorcycles. The EX’s price sits just above petrol models like the Bajaj Pulsar N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, which are priced between ₹1.16 lakh and ₹1.19 lakh ex-showroom.

Maharashtra, one of the launch states, exempts electric two-wheelers from the 11 percent road tax applied to petrol models in this segment. This exemption is worth about ₹13,000 on a Bajaj Pulsar N160, making the electric EX more competitive on the road.

Production, Dealerships, and Company Background

Avore developed nine vehicle systems in-house over three years, including the battery management system, motor, controller, charger, and operating system. The company has filed more than 120 intellectual property applications. It sources battery cells from outside India and contracts motor assembly to an Indian partner. The entire project was funded internally, without outside investment.

Fifteen dealerships have been finalized in Gujarat and Maharashtra, with 65 more enquiries under evaluation. Each dealership will include a service workshop staffed by technicians trained by Avore. The company’s Chhatral plant in Gujarat spans 150,000 sq ft and has an installed capacity to produce 15,000 electric two-wheelers per month. Avore’s founder, Priyank Rakholiya, emphasized the focus on stabilizing the product and service network over achieving high volume in the first year.

The EX is the first vehicle from Samarth E-Mobility, led by Rakholiya, who previously managed a large family chemicals business. He highlighted the importance of quality and consistency in both ventures.
