Hero MotoCorp aims to cater to the growing demand for electric mobility in Nepal. The company sees Nepal as a strategic market where electric vehicle adoption is increasing. The launch is part of Hero MotoCorp’s broader plan to expand its electric vehicle presence beyond India.

Strategic Partnership and Market Expansion

Hero MotoCorp has partnered with CG Motors to distribute its Vida electric vehicles in Nepal. This partnership will help Hero MotoCorp establish a strong presence in the Nepalese electric two-wheeler market. The company’s Chief Business Officer, Kausalya Nandakumar, described the launch as a proud and defining moment for the brand.

Hero MotoCorp generates over 85% of its tooling business from the automotive sector. The company is focusing on original equipment manufacturer localisation as industry efforts accelerate. The automaker also plans to expand its manufacturing capacity and strengthen research and development activities.

In addition to the Nepal launch, the company will acquire a one-third stake alongside Volvo Group and Daimler Truck. This transaction is expected to be completed soon, further supporting Hero MotoCorp’s growth strategy in the electric vehicle sector.

Hero MotoCorp’s entry into Nepal with its Vida brand signals its commitment to international electric mobility markets. The company’s partnership with CG Motors is expected to support the adoption of electric two-wheelers in Nepal.
