As of the first two weeks of December 2025, Chetak has become the No. 1 selling electric scooter in India. With its official launch today, it is very exciting to see if the Chetak can maintain its No. 1 position for the remainder of the month, which will make this scooter the best one of the year 2024 in India.
Here are the Key Upgrades we know about this scooter.
One of the biggest upgrades in this version of Bajaj Chetak is its redesigned chassis which contributes to the lightweight of the body. This upgrade could improve the scooter’s handling, agility, and overall performance.
Another major upgrade is re-positioning the battery setup from the seat area to the floor bed of the scooter. This will provide a plethora of benefits such as improved weight distribution, lower center of gravity, and more stability during cornering, braking, and low-speed maneuvers. The newer battery will also provide better power efficiency, higher range, and better capacity with more safety features.
The repositioning of the battery contributes to its larger storage space.
According to the spy shots from the roads in Pune, Bajaj is addressing a common concern with previous Chetak models: limited storage space. By relocating the battery, under-seat storage is likely to be significantly improved, making it more practical for everyday use and aligning it with competitors that already offer larger storage compartments.
Design Tweaks and Features
While maintaining its retro-modern styling, subtle design updates can be observed in the test units. The body panels feature slight refinements, and new color options may be introduced for added variety. The rear section showcases redesigned tail lamps with a sleeker LED pattern, giving it a fresh look.
The instrument cluster is expected to receive an upgrade as well, potentially offering a more advanced display with features such as smartphone connectivity and navigation. Some test mules have been spotted with steel wheels, marking a departure from the alloy wheels seen in current variants.
Bajaj Chetak EV Price
To broaden its appeal, Bajaj may introduce the new 2025 Chetak at a lower starting price compared to previous models. Currently, the existing Bajaj Chetak Electric Vehicle Price ranges from ₹95,998 to ₹1,28,744, depending on the variant. A more affordable base model could further solidify Bajaj’s position in the electric two-wheeler market.
Bajaj is promoting the 2025 Chetak as "the best Chetak yet," aiming to enhance its reputation in the electric scooter segment. With an increasing market share in electric scooters, this new model seeks to establish itself as a reliable and stylish choice for consumers across India.
