Bajaj Trademarked Three New Bike Names

Bajaj Auto, one of the leading two-wheeler companies in India, has recently trademarked three new names for its upcoming bikes. The names which were trademarked are Freedom, Trekker, and Glider.

Trademark Details

The trademarks for Trekker and Glider were filed on 29th January and have already been accepted. However, Freedom, the third name in the lineup, is still under examination as it was applied for on 9th February.

The time for revealing these trademark names should be noted, since the news broke out after the announcement of the upcoming CNG field bike by Bajaj in Q2 of FY2024. Speculation suggests that Bajaj might be securing these names in anticipation of using one of them for its upcoming CNG bike. This step from Bajaj will help the brand to enter the eco-friendly two-wheeler segment.

This is common for companies to secure trademarks for potential product names, whether they are actively planning the launch of the product or not. Therefore, it remains important to see whether these trademarks will directly correlate with specific product releases.

Market Strategy

The current lineup of commuter bikes offered by Bajaj, like Platina and CT100, focuses on the rural market. Introducing a CNG powered bike will give a strategic shift towards addressing urban areas. 
Future Developments

Though there is not much known about the new CNG bike, we can only wait till Bajaj reveals more information on the same. In addition to this, Bajaj has also been actively updating its existing lineup of 125cc, 160cc, and 200cc motorcycles to stay competitive in the market.
