Concept RR Design and Engineering

The Concept RR is built on the BMW M 1000 RR platform. It uses a liquid-cooled inline-four engine derived from BMW's WorldSBK race bike. This engine produces over 230 HP, highlighting its performance focus. The bodywork features extensive use of carbon fibre and aluminium. Aerodynamic winglets are integrated into the fairing to improve high-speed stability and downforce. Airflow channels run through the bodywork from front to rear, further enhancing aerodynamics.

BMW Motorrad presented the Concept RR as a preview of its future superbike direction. The company has not yet revealed a production version for any global market. The patent filing in India is likely a preparatory step, with no confirmed launch timeline.

Current BMW M-badged Motorcycles in India

BMW Motorrad currently sells only one M-badged motorcycle in India, the M 1000 R. This street-naked model is priced from Rs 33.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The M 1000 R shares its platform with the M 1000 RR, emphasising BMW's focus on high-performance motorcycles in the Indian market.

Production and Launch Timeline

The production version of the Concept RR is expected to debut globally before any India launch. BMW Motorrad has not announced a specific timeline for the production model or its introduction in India. The patent filing suggests BMW is preparing for future launches but has not committed to immediate production or sales.
