BYD Unveils New-Gen Atto 3 with Major Updates at Beijing Auto Show 2026
BYD has launched the new-generation Atto 3 at Beijing Auto Show 2026 with updated design, larger dimensions, two battery options, up to 630km CLTC range, and fast-charging technology. India launch not yet confirmed.

BYD has introduced the new-generation Atto 3 at the Beijing Auto Show 2026, revealing significant design and technical upgrades. Known as the Yuan Plus in China, the updated Atto 3 arrives just months after the Atto 3 Evo launched in India.

Key Design and Feature Updates
The new BYD Atto 3 features a redesigned front with a sculpted bumper and new alloy wheels up to 19 inches. The model also includes semi-flush door handles, a floating roof effect at the rear, and updated LED tail-lights. An illuminated BYD logo now appears on the rear facade.
The new Atto 3 measures 4,665mm in length, 1,895mm in width, and 1,675mm in height. Compared to the Indian model, it is 210mm longer, 20mm wider, and 60mm taller. The wheelbase has increased by 50mm to 2,770mm, offering more interior space and road presence.
Boot space stands at 750 litres, with an additional 180 litres in the frunk. Inside, the Atto 3 gains a new two-spoke steering wheel and a front-passenger seat with extra reclining. Storage options include a heated and cooled box. Other features are a panoramic glass roof, 256-colour ambient lighting, a 16-speaker audio system, 50W wireless charging, and 60W USB Type-C charging.
Technical Specifications and Performance

The China-spec Atto 3 offers two battery options: 57.54kWh and 68.54kWh. Both use BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery technology. The 57.54kWh battery delivers a CLTC range of 540km, while the 68.54kWh version offers 630km. Both batteries power a rear-mounted electric motor, available in 272hp and 327hp versions.
BYD has introduced 'Flash Charging' technology in the new Atto 3. This system can charge the battery from 10 to 97 percent in just 9 minutes, according to BYD. The vehicle also offers a LiDAR-assisted automated driving suite in China.
Market Availability and Outlook
The BYD Atto 3 is currently the most affordable model in the brand's Indian portfolio. While BYD has not confirmed plans to launch the new-generation Atto 3 in India, the updated model could reach the market in the future.
