Classic Legends will hold a launch event on 23 April, where it is expected to introduce several new products. Among these, the BSA Scrambler 650 is likely to make its debut in India. This model has already been available in select international markets and will expand BSA’s current Indian lineup, which presently features only the Goldstar 650.
Key Highlights
- Classic Legends to launch new BSA Scrambler 650 in India
- Scrambler 650 uses 652cc single-cylinder engine with 46bhp and 55Nm torque
- Expected price is Rs 20,000 to 30,000 less than Royal Enfield Bear 650
Scrambler 650 Specifications
The BSA Scrambler 650 shares its platform with the Goldstar 650. It uses the same 652cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine produces around 46bhp and delivers a peak torque of 55Nm. The powertrain is paired with a five-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle features a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel setup. These wheels are fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, enhancing its off-road capability. The Scrambler 650 also has a different sub-frame compared to the Goldstar. It sports a sleeker tail design and a bench-style seat, which distinguishes its appearance and ergonomics.
Additionally, the Scrambler 650 comes with a unique exhaust canister. This may provide a distinct exhaust note, setting it apart from the Goldstar 650.
Market Position and Pricing
The BSA Scrambler 650 is expected to compete directly with the Royal Enfield Bear 650. The Bear 650 is priced from Rs. 3.75 lakh, ex-showroom. In comparison, the Scrambler 650 is likely to be priced Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000 lower. This price difference is due to its more traditional equipment and single-cylinder engine, while the Bear 650 uses a twin-cylinder unit.
With the addition of the Scrambler 650, BSA aims to offer more variety to Indian buyers. The launch will mark an important step for Classic Legends as it seeks to strengthen its position in the Indian motorcycle market.
