Dacia, the sister brand of Renault, has taken the wraps off the 2024 Spring EV, a revamped iteration based on the Renault Kwid EV platform. This second-generation Spring EV brings a significant design overhaul and a host of new features, showcasing a major leap in equipment and safety features.

Duster-like Design Upgrade
The Spring EV not only looks fresh but also draws inspiration from the rugged aesthetics of the Dacia Duster. The front features slim horizontal headlamps, merging seamlessly into the grille adorned with gloss black and off-white inserts. The grille showcases the new Dacia logo and includes a dedicated insert for the charging port. Faux air vents, a wider center air dam, and a butch overall appearance give the Spring EV a distinctive presence.
Interior Reflects Duster's Appeal

Inside, the Spring EV boasts an all-new dashboard reminiscent of the Duster's rugged charm. The steering wheel with integrated controls, infotainment screen, and HVAC controls are borrowed from the Duster. The interior offers ample physical controls, unique accessory mounts, and an open shelf on the passenger side. Advanced driver assistance systems, including lane-keeping assistance and emergency braking, align the Spring EV with Europe’s new safety regulations.
Unchanged Powertrain with Enhanced Safety
While the powertrain remains largely unchanged, with a single electric motor delivering either 45hp or 65hp to the front wheels, safety features receive a boost. The Spring EV incorporates lane-keeping assistance, advanced emergency braking, and a driver attention monitoring system to comply with European safety standards. Dual airbags and ABS come standard, with a 'My Safety' button for easy access to ADAS settings.

The Dacia Spring EV could potentially make its way to India as the Renault Kwid EV, entering the market as a direct competitor to the MG Comet and the Tata Tiago EV. However, the timeline for its Indian launch remains uncertain.
