Ducati has launched the Superleggera V4 Centenario, its most advanced and lightweight Panigale V4 yet. This road-legal motorcycle features a full carbon-fibre chassis and delivers up to 247hp in track configuration. Ducati will produce only 600 units of this model worldwide, making it highly exclusive.
Key Highlights
- Ducati Superleggera V4 Centenario limited to 600 units worldwide
- 1,103cc engine produces up to 247hp in track configuration
- First road-legal bike with carbon-ceramic disc brakes and full carbon-fibre chassis
- Centenario Tricolore variant limited to 100 units with Italian flag livery
- Expected price in India between Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 3 crore
Key Features and Specifications
The Ducati Superleggera V4 Centenario uses a 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine. This engine is re-engineered for maximum performance and minimal weight. It produces 228hp in road-legal form and reaches 247hp with a full-system Akrapovic exhaust, Ducati Corse Performance Oil, and a carbon-fibre dry clutch. The engine alone weighs 3.5kg less than the standard version. In full track setup, the bike has a wet weight of just 167kg without fuel, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 1.48hp/kg, or nearly 1500hp/tonne.
The Superleggera V4 Centenario is the first road-legal motorcycle to feature carbon-ceramic disc brakes. These 340mm discs handle extreme temperatures and provide consistent braking performance while reducing inertia. The bike also uses MotoGP-derived Ohlins carbon-fibre fork outer tubes, which are 34 percent lighter than conventional tubes and improve front-end feedback.
Design, Electronics, and Exclusivity
Ducati has constructed the frame, swingarm, subframes, and wheels entirely from carbon-fibre. This results in a 17 percent weight reduction compared to the standard Panigale V4 alloy chassis. The electronics suite includes Ducati Quickshifter 2.0, multiple riding and power modes, slide control, cornering aids, traction control, wheelie control, and engine brake control. A thumb-operated neutral lock near the throttle prevents false neutrals during gear shifts.
The Superleggera V4 Centenario is limited to 600 units, with 500 in the Centenario livery and 100 in the Tricolore livery, which features the Italian flag colors. Each buyer receives an Arai helmet matching the bike’s livery, and the motorcycle is delivered in a special crate. Overseas pricing is around 150,000 Euros, with expected Indian prices between Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 3 crore.
Ducati also unveiled the Superleggera V4 Centenario Tricolore, which shares the same mechanical and electronic features but is limited to just 100 units. Both models celebrate Ducati’s centenary and push the boundaries of road-legal motorcycle engineering.
